(Reuters) -Moscow's proposals for settlement in Ukraine are well known to Kyiv and either Ukraine fulfils them for their own good or the Russian army will decide the issue, TASS agency quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying.

"Our proposals for the demilitarization and denazification of the territories controlled by the regime, the elimination of threats to Russia's security emanating from there, including our new lands, are well known to the enemy," the state news agency quoted Lavrov as saying late on Monday.

"The point is simple: Fulfil them for your own good. Otherwise, the issue will be decided by the Russian army."....

Lavrov serves Putin well.
In the same position since 2004. Almost 20 years!
Apparently he is outside Putin’s inner cycle and just does what he is told.
Yes, Poor little court jester is great characterization.

Yeah, that’s Russia’s idea of a negotiation. Give us what we want or we’ll take it and kill everyone in our way.

Lavrov needs a new Reset button.

Send Fat Bottomed Girl with the replacement.

“The country is in ruins BECAUSE the russians invaded”

Just like the US has invaded every country it’s fought since WW2

If you’d compare Russia’s original demands to that of Zelensky then the former is very modest. Especially if you date back to Minsk 2.

If they can take out the Kerch strait bridge that be comes a possibility. But that also depends on the offensive capabilities of the Ukrainian Army.

Taking Crimea would be a major operation and the Ukes need to make sure they have enough troops to hold elsewhere and take Crimea too.

Right, like the Russians robbing, executing civilians, annexing territory and threatening genocide? We have grown up past that kind of chauvinism and imperialism, Russia has not.

Russia isn’t doing anything the US hasn’t been doing for decades.

The way you say it makes it sound like it was wrong when the USA did it, but okay for the russians to do. Pick one. If it’s wrong, then it’s wrong for russia to do it now regardless of what other countries did in the past.

Here is a good peace plan I think would work.

For Russia:

Russia is to leave all Ukraine territory immediately. All spies, military and support for anti-Ukrainian militias and proxies are to be out of Ukraine by midnight on December 31.

For Ukraine:

All military actions are to cease by midnight on December 31. All spies, proxies, and military support for anti-Russian militias are to be out of Russia.

For United States:

An immediate independent audit of all funds distributed to Ukraine are to commence. There will be no additional funding by the taxpayer until all funds are accounted for. The audit will be done on a line item basis and will be broadcast on all major networks.

Sure we grew out of our empire building, when was our last annexed territory? Russia is STILL building its empire by conquering neighbors land.

If it wasn’t wrong for the US then it’s not wrong for Russia. We have no basis to wage a proxy war against Russia for doing the same thing we’ve been doing for decades. Only difference is that Russia is fighting on its own borders. We never were.

an·nex=add (territory) to one's own territory by appropriation.
