A tense moment on the House of Representatives floor resulted in a Republican member physically lunging at another who then had to be restrained from further escalation.
The scuffle happened between Reps-elect Mike Rogers, R-Ala., and Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., after the 14th House speaker vote failed.
Gaetz was discussing with Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., the possibility of backing him in the next vote and appeared to mouth the worth "committee."
Gaetz is currently on the House Armed Services Committee, which is chaired by Rogers.
McCarthy appeared to agree and returned to his seat. Rogers, having witnessed the interaction, then walked up to Gaetz’s row and made a move toward him.
Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C., intervened and physically restrained Rogers, pulling him back by his shoulders in full view of C-SPAN’s cameras.
Rogers could then be seen appearing to yell: "I won’t forget this!"
In the 15th and final vote, McCarthy was officially elected speaker with Gaetz voting "present."

They will, else McCarthy's word is destroyed to an unrecoverable state. And he wouldn't survive such an evil double cross of his own party. He has no choice, ultimately.

I saw that as well on CSPAN. Looked like Rogers was pulled away by a hand over his mouth. Wondered if also that was to shut him up. Very Bazaar!
I would take a closer look at who exactly is praising Mr. Gaetz and where you’re seeing all this praise if I were you. Well done does not really seem to fit.

I hope you are right. Rogers should have been arrested. His lust for power is
alarming.
The RINOs will vote for plenty of bills that will die in the senate to show how conservative they are.

Just when was the last time one was actually seen much less went into the history books?

I’m not real confident that the now speaker who in reality never should have been, and has yet to really speak his mind is now completely in charge.
He has not been trustworthy in the past, and now it’s present. We find out shortly just how it is going to be.
Count me one who thinks the ones who lost their backbone are going to find out why they never should have hung their hats on the McCarthy hat rack.
With all that said, I guess they just could not find an individual with enough juice to garner the required votes besides McCarthy. Too bad says I.
Should the “victory” actually take place I will be willing to say I misjudged the man. I just can’t kick the Rushism “a tiger can’t hide his stripes”.
I asked on this forum the other day how long before one of Kevin’s minions took a swing at someone live on CSpan cameras and looks like it almost happened.
Charles Sumner was well known to be a complete and utter Richard head. It was Sumner’s mocking of Brooks’ family member for his disability due to his health problems that caused Brooks to cane him.
Back in the days when your mouth could easily earn you a beatdown or a challenge to a duel, people used to watch their mouths a lot more than they do now.
