I used to kite fight as a pre-teen and while cut fingers were common I never heard of anyone being seriously injured.
It is heartbreaking to see your kite plunge to earth or soar away out of sight after your string is cut.
I wonder if it was because we were kids and did not take it seriously.
Every time adults start playing kid's games the fun seems to go out.

As opposed to what? Being playfully sliced to death? Elegantly sliced to death?
They are supposed to be trying to cut the other kites’ strings... like a “last kite standing” type contest.
But accidents happen when you’ve got a million people crammed in that street and no safety regulations.

India is a strange place. They still have a caste system, child-brides, a blue god with a dozen arms, leprosy is still rampant, and they would rather watch their children starve to death than kill a cow for a year’s supply of hamburger, steak and ribs.
The mid-air tussle for triumph tragically saw two baby girls, aged two and three, and a boy, 7, bleed to death in front of their helpless parents.
WTH did they have them? Idiots!
