Biden would defeat Trump in 2024 but lose to Ron DeSantis: poll
The New York Post ^ | January 17, 2023 | Mark Moore

President Biden would easily beat former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 election matchup — but would lose if he faced off against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to a recent poll.

In a rematch of the 2020 presidential contest, the 80-year-old Biden would prevail over his 76-year-old predecessor by eight percentage points in the popular vote — 49% to 41% — but would fall to the Sunshine State’s Republican governor by 45% to 42% in a head-to-head contest, the WPA Intelligence survey released Jan. 13 found.

Trump announced Nov. 15 that he would mount a third consecutive run for the White House, while Biden is expected to seek re-election, but has yet to make a formal announcement.

DeSantis, fresh off a landslide re-election victory on Nov. 8, has not said whether he will enter the 2024 race — but most observers expect him to get in later this year.

To underscore your excellent point, we should consider that the electorate in 24 will be four and eight years removed from the Trump runs. More younger peeps joining, and more of us folks from older generations , um, moving on.

Oh, and the poll is nonsense unless someone actually thought that Mister Biden will run for reelection.

WPI is run by Republican insider Chris Wilson

“In 2016, as the Director of Research, Analytics and Digital Strategy for the Cruz for President campaign, Chris is credited for playing a key role in Cruz’s triumph in Iowa and helping the Texas Senator finish with the most delegates earned by a 2nd place finisher since Ronald Reagan in 1976. Wilson and WPAi work with organizations like the Club for Growth, Freedom Works, Family Research Council, the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee providing data and polling.”

“President Biden would easily beat former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 election matchup...”

Is there a person on earth who actually believes that, I mean other than a few DeSantis groupies here on FR?

If the election were honest, it'd be close. A tossup. Don't kid yourself. This is not Reagan's America. The demographics are completely different. * Many more Takers rather than Makers. * Many more single, childless, feminist women looking to the government to provide and protect. * Many more migrants come to sponge off whitey and claim reparations. * Many more slackers with worthless degrees, massive student loan debt, and no prospects. * Many more of the mentally ill. Yup, this is what you all need to consider. Unmarried single women + majority of Black voters (aka "Souls to Polls" organized by the Left) + education/union voters + "LGBTQIA+" voters = almost half the vote. And it's hard to win every swing vote when the media is working against you.

Michigan and Pennsylvania are now firmly in the hands of the Democrat machine. There is no overcoming the fraud, mail in voting, early voting, harvesting and drop boxes in either state.

Arizona is pretty much a done deal. The new Governor isn’t going to let all the hard work she and her handlers put in, go to waste.

Then there’s Georgia. Anyone that thinks because Kemp won, things are good in Georgia either knows nothing about the state or they’re ignoring what’s going on.

So, 3 of 4 ‘battleground states’ are gone to the Democrats. No longer ‘battleground states’.

Given what I see going on in Georgia, I’m confident that the number is actually 4 out of 4.

So, given the fact that the Democrats have already locked up 260+ Electoral College votes, no Republican is winning in 2024.

However, if the North Carolina legislature is successful with their case that is currently being reviewed by SCOTUS, it’ll be interesting how many state legislatures act on the decision. A win there means that the legislatures, solely, have responsibility over the election and voting rules. That means that the Republican states can get rid of anything they want. There is no SOS or Mark Elias showing up, suing on behalf of anyone to get the rules changed.

And for those that don’t know, Wisconsin almost has Republican, veto-proof majorities in its state legislature. I think one chamber is veto-proof, while the other was 2 seats shy. Either way, they have the majority and there’s nothing that the Governor, SOS, nor AG can do anything about any changes they want to make.

I don’t believe this for a second. The more they try to push DeSantis the more they show their fear of Trump.

Forgive me if I don't start clutching my pearls. Not only am I not greatly offended, it's a whole lot better then the promotion of socialism and gay sex things, like every other news outlet.

Thank you for being the voice of reason here. I love Trump, and I was never as enthusiastic about voting to reelect someone as I was voting to reelect Trump in 2020, but I have to part company with the knee-jerk responses here along the lines of “Brain-dead, feckless old Joe?! Trump will mop up the floor with him in ‘24!!!” Uh, no, Trump *should* mop up the floor with him, and in Reagan’s America, he would mop up the floor with him. But we ain’t in Kansas anymore. Biden and Fetterman have proven that in many places the Dems, through hook or crook, can win easily even with total loser candidates. 2024 will be no GOP cakewalk. Not for Trump, not for any Republican.
