Russia didn’t spend the last 30 years bombing the shit out of poor impoverished countries

Billy, you got to get out more.

Russia is less than 1/2 the size of the US and their economy is smaller than Texas', but they do have a pretty impressive record of bombing the shit out of shit hole countries in the last 30 years.

Syrian, Chechnya, Georgia, Dagestan, Tajikistan, and South Ossentian didn't bomb themselves

Lots of your fellow travelers think Putin’s only options are heroic victory where he is crowned empereror of the NeoSoviet Empire or Nuclear Winter, so my confusion is warranted.

oh noes. Russia and China will work together. its over. /s

Neither trust the other as far as they can throw them. Yawn.

If anything, the bank of China will take advantage of weakened Russia, like all of Russia’s so called friends in the very near future.

You wrote:”...Russia didn’t spend the last 30 years bombing the shit out of poor impoverished countries...”. Please, tell us how many countries United States annexed in those sad 30 years? In 100 years? How come that you can hear languages other than German in Europe? Why are there prosperous Japan, Korea and Vietnam - countries that US bombed the shit out, according to your elegant language? And, out of curiosity, please name one of the “dictators we have had”...

Russia outlawed criticism of the invasion and speaking badly of the military. An ordinary citizen of Russia saying this would get a midnight visit by the FSB.

Ivashov is in the protected class where he can say what he wants and get away with it. For him to speak out openly means a lot more throughout the Russian government are quietly thinking the same.

We are reading Ivashov’s very perceptive analysis. But I doubt very many in Russia have been able to see this. So Putin does not mind Ivashov. At age 79 he is not a threat to Vlad.

https://sonar21.com/public-display-of-the-gross-incompetence-of-u-s-and-nato-military-leaders/

At the outset of the Special Military Operation Ukraine had a larger army in the field than Russia. That is no longer the case. Russia destroyed Ukraine’s tank brigades and now Ukraine is begging desperately for replacements. Ukraine’s Army has been decimated by the Russian tactic of using artillery to attack and destroy fixed entrenchments. Even if NATO decided to mobilize and send its own troops to reinforce Ukraine, that would not be enough to “expel” Russian forces. Russia is fighting for its homeland.

###

Russia’s so-called “conscripts” are military reservists, plus an estimated 100,000 volunteers who signed up. Ukraine, by contrast, is kidnapping 16 year old boys and 60 year old men off the streets in places like Kiev and Odessa. I find it hard to believe that Milley really believes the crap he is spewing. If he does then the United States military is in grave danger with a moron like that in charge.

###

Russia enjoys advantages in personnel, tanks, artillery, ammunition, electronic warfare, combat aircraft, helicopters and hyper sonic missiles. There is zero evidence that Ukraine has more courage, resilience or tactical skill than the Russians. In fact, the real asymmetry is that Russia has more trained soldiers than Ukraine by a vast margin.

###

Ukraine, with the help of the West, is sleep walking into the slaughterhouse. Ukraine and NATO’s refusal to wake up and grasp the reality of what is happening is likely to lead to the destruction of both.

Just curious, what would defeat Russia? Social unrest or a coup? That seems unlikely.

Yeah, Russia has absolutely no history of that!

Like, not in recent memory!

Ukraine is flattened and Russia won’t be stopping. There’s nothing to stop them.

Unfortunately, I think you're right.

Do you know what the US military spends all it’s money on? The generals are addicted to Spending obscene sums of money on overly complicated, Buggy Latest gen tech weapons. Weapons that are far more likely to fail in actual battle conditions. That’s why in world war 1, world war 2 even the Korean war all the military equipment was extremely simple. The More things there are to go wrong, The more things will go wrong.

You'd better check where that Russian oil revenue curve has headed. Better yet, an oil PROFITS curve. What picks it back up?

China is thrilled with this. El cheapo energy for them - woohoo!

Here’s one:

US inventory of HIMARS B4 we sent any to Ukraine was 410.
After that, sources vary, but it appears we took delivery in 2022 of something under 50. 2023 production is supposed to go to 96 launchers.*

20 were actually sent to Ukraine.

*Lockheed Martin, bless their profit-hunting hearts, saw the writing on the wall, and went from clueless to proactively preparing to boost production, acquire parts, etc., without waiting for purchase orders. If they are REALLY smart, they’ll contact the Ukraine Defense Ministry and say, “Hey, these will be available shortly!”

Neither is true.

China is basically sitting on the sidelines, issuing a statement or two about US “hegemony” and unfair sanctions, and then going backstage and doing happy cartwheels over the EU energy transport sanctions that keep China’s supply of oil from Russia cheap, crashing Russia’s oil profits since said sanctions went into effect.

An interesting little tidbit:

Not only have the EU transport sanctions coupled with some relief globally of oil prices clonked Russia’s oil profits, their other main source of Gov’t revenue, their internal VAT, is down a flipping 44.4% from Jan. 2022 to Jan. 2023.

That’s an incredibly bad indicator. If someone had predicted it a few months ago, I’d have told them they were nuts.

Income tax (much smaller) actually went negative.

No way China bails Russia out of this. Given a year or two, China might “debt trap” them, tho’. Not that it seems wise.
