But those who crave power the most are the ones most likely to achieve it. It seems like a mathematical certainty.
That’s why the Founders in their wisdom crafted the Constitution to so severely limit the power of those we elect. Of course we’re an empire now and that document is mostly a dead letter, but it worked remarkably well for awhile.
