But Cherkasov was refused entry as he arrived to start the internship. He was arrested days later in Brazil for fraud.
The criminal complaint does not say what tipped off Dutch intelligence to Cherkasov's alleged espionage.

The Russians are good at two things, spying and propaganda. The Chinese are also good at these as well as building out a more modern military.
China is the threat, Russia is a nuisance. But to Europeans, the Russian threat is real, which is why nearly every Warsaw Pact former Soviet/Russian ally has ran kicking and screaming to NATO. Now, even former neutrals Sweden and Finland want into NATO.
