No, it’s not the Ukrainian lynch pin in the East. It’s a strategically worthless mining town out in the boonies.
Exactly. And only one of a string of industrials cities in the middle of Donetsk, most of which are still occupied by the Ukrainian army.
The truth is always somewhere in the middle. It is a very important point on Ukraine’s defensive line, but there are numerous cities all the way to the Dneiper that can and will stop Russian progress west as well.
Unfortunately, you have a rather motivated and well-paid ragtag group of mercenaries that are the expendable shocktroops for clearing out a quickly deteriorating conscript army that is searching for a way out. I think this latest leak of ‘US secret information’ is a way of the US/NATO squirming out of attempting a spring offensive because the Ukrainian army numbers are severely stressed and the US/NATO is not willing to commit their own troops.
China will broker a peace deal in June/July.
“No, it’s not the Ukrainian lynch pin in the East. It’s a strategically worthless mining town out in the boonies.”
Uh, I see. That must be why the Ukes have desperately thrown everything they have into it, even green “recruits”.
“strategically worthless mining town out in the boonies.”
Tell the BBC propaganda masters—they have not gotten the word yet:

It’s a strategically worthless mining town out in the boonies.
