Last year the counties home to LA, Chicago and New York City suffered the largest exodus of people in the country - meanwhile tens of thousands flocked to counties in Arizona, Texas and Florida.
Los Angeles County, which is still the most populous county in the US, saw an average of 143,000 people leave to elsewhere in the country between July 2021 and July 2022, according to the latest US Census data.
It was followed by Cook County, home to Chicago, which lost around 94,000 people to other parts of the country. Three of New York City's counties - Kings, Queens and Bronx - were all among the top five counties facing a mass migration.

A neighbor who owns a vrbo place next door from NY city was complaining how expensive food and gas is here in Florida. (There’s a rumor that Florida is a free state, whatever that means). She bought the place about 2 years ago. When they come they find it expensive and crowded. It’s getting worse. Bunches of them, like my neighbor, are coming down here and buying up properties. And she also just found out her homeowner and flood insurances were cancelled so she has to get citizens, the insurance of last resort. Crummy coverage. Boo hoo.

New York is quickly shedding its tax base no thanks to the radical Socialists who occupy Albany and NYC. High taxes, high cost of living and high crime .

I pulled up to the light here in southern NH this morning. A guy with CA plates was right next to me. I thought, I hope he is just visiting.
They should know that there is a rattlesnake under every bush here in Arizona!
We see occasional CA folks around here in CT.
