Judge shoots down Trump’s bid to delay E. Jean Carroll rape trial in NYC

A Manhattan federal judge on Monday denied former President Donald Trump’s bid to delay his civil trial on allegations he sexually assaulted and defamed advice columnist E. Jean Carroll — with jury selection set to begin next week.

US District Judge Lewis Kaplan shot down Trump’s argument that a month-long “cooling off” period was necessary because of intense media scrutiny following his criminal indictment in New York state court.

“There is no justification for an adjournment. This case is entirely unrelated to the state prosecution,” Kaplan wrote in an order denying the request.

“The suggestion that the recent media coverage of the New York indictment — coverage significantly (though certainly not entirely) invited or provoked by Mr. Trump’s own actions — would preclude selection of a fair and impartial jury on April 25 is pure speculation,” he added.

Trump, 76, sought twice last week to push off the trial, arguing in a separate letter that information related to who is paying for Carroll’s legal defense was not properly disclosed.

With his order Monday, Kaplan has rejected both bids to push back the trial’s April 25 start date.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

The two requests by Trump to delay the trial were denied by the judge. Trial to begin on April 25.

The verdicts in Trump’s upcoming trials have already been determined. The left knows they can punish Trump however they want without worry about Americans citizens doing a damn thing about it.

Defamation is a tort. This is a civil case.

“This case is entirely unrelated to the state prosecution” the Kangaroo asserted without evidence.

How is the civil case between Mark Steyn and the Hockey Stick Mann of the State Pen doing time-wise?

E. Jean Carroll is a complete and utter LOON!
She thinks rape is sexy!
Do you really think that Trump would have anything to do with this NUT BALL?
Would he really risk raping her in a womans changing room in a department store?
Would someone of his means even BE in a department store?
C’mon man!

They will keep hitting Trump with these cases over and over until he is destroyed.

Then they will do it to the next threat to the fascist state.

In boxing this isn’t a KO case but a cut over the eye that they hope will help to break his will.

In her suit, Carroll claims Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s and then made defamatory statements about her allegations.

From the 1990s? Is there no statute of limitations on these allegations?

Would someone of his means even BE in a department store?

Bergdorf Goodman is a high end, luxury department store on 5th Avenue. It caters to the wealthy.

It will be interesting to see how Trump handles his deposition where he confused Carroll for his second wife Marla Maples:

A transcript of Trump’s October 2022 deposition with Carroll’s lawyer released on Wednesday seems to undermine the 76-year-old former president’s 2019 claim that “she’s not my type.”

The 45th president made the mixup as he was being shown a black and white photo from an NBC event in 1987 by Carroll’s attorney Roberta Kaplan, who is suing Trump for defamation.

[upon seeing the photo, Trump testified]:

“I guess that’s her husband, John Johnson, who was an anchor for NBC. Nice guy, I thought. I mean, I don’t know him, but I thought he was pretty good at what he did. I don’t even know the woman. I don’t know who – it’s Marla,” said Trump about the image. “You’re saying Marla is in this photo?” Kaplan asks. To which Trump responds, “That’s Marla, yeah. That’s my wife.”

I had not seen prior references that state this “victim’ is/was an ‘advice columnist’.

That makes this all even stranger.

However-—I will NEVER believe TRUMP went anywhere near her-—much less in a dressing room in a department store.

The few ‘dressing rooms’ I have even been in are very small.

A buyer needs to be a contortionist to remove & put on clothes there....Much less 2 persons in that space.

Strange case. She has zero evidence to offer to back up her claim, so how can the courts pursue it?

Testimony is evidence.

Also, she saved the dress she was allegedly wearing during the attack. For 3 years her attorneys asked Trump to provide his DNA to see if it matched the DNA on her dress. Trump repeatedly refused to provide his DNA which, if he didn’t attack her, could be exculpatory.

He was smart not to do so. You don’t know what they will do with the DNA. Additionally, it could have been consensual sex—DNA would prove nothing.

Even if they get Trump, they will go after his children, friends and business partners.

They are fascists.
