It was blatant, and it flipped the decision from potential bad guy to one of ours.

This will help Trump, but not much I would imagine. All those who thought the DOJ and Hillary did him dirty already believe that and those who have lost their minds knee-deep in hate with TDS don’t care no matter that.
The one area where it may impact our country is how forcefully Congress uses this to make the DOJ come to heel and clean itself up.
Force out anyone who first had anything to do with this.
Then clip the wings permanently (as in never to be promoted - ever) if any DOJ/FBI member ever gets caught using the Legal System as a bludgeon against political enemies.
Unless a major clean-up comes from this to protect us from THEM moving forward, then all this just becomes the joke about how Hillary and the FBI/DOJ colluded to F Trump and got away with it.

CNN’s Jake Tapper and Evan Perez discuss the Durham Report, which suggested no new charges, despite determining that the FBI and DOJ should never have initiated their investigation into Donald Trump, which falsely accused the former President of being a Russian agent:
“The report is now here. It has dropped, and it might not have produced everything of what some Republicans hoped for. It is, regardless, devastating to the FBI. And to a degree, it does exonerate Donald Trump.”
“The bottom line finding from John Durham’s four-year investigation is that the FBI moved very quickly to investigate these allegations of connections of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and that they did so by ignoring a lot of evidence that would have led them to drop that all together...
What he finds is that there wasn’t enough there to support the FBI’s decision to open a full-blown investigation of the Trump-Russia ties back in 2016.
He writes here he says that it seems highly likely that, at a minimum, confirmation bias played a significant role in the FBI’s acceptance of extraordinarily serious allegations derived from uncorroborated information that had not been subjected to the typical exacting analysis that the FBI usually uses.
He goes on to say that the FBI discounted or willfully ignored material information that did not support the narrative of a collusive relationship between Trump and Russia.
There was a lot of very sharp criticism here of the former FBI leadership, James Comey and Andy McCabe, who were running the FBI and who oversaw a lot of these have a lot of the steps that the report goes into, Jake, but as you pointed out, bottom line, there are no additional charges....
A couple quotes here from Durham’s report, based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane, that’s the investigation into Trump and Russia, and related intelligence activities we conclude that the Justice Department and FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law.”
The President of the United States was falsely accused of being a foreign agent of Russia and framed for treason by the FBI, the Justice Department, and the American media, and no one will be held accountable.

They are mostly citing the failure of Durham’s two prosecutions in this case and his refusal to recommend charges going forward... they see that as an exoneration of the Mueller probe and the FBI. Just like the IG report, they see no ‘deep state’ conspiracy against Trump in any of this. It’s BS but that is what to expect from inside that echo chamber.
