Ron DeSantis: ‘You Can’t Build a Strong Economy Based on Illegality
Breitbart ^ | 16 May 2023 | Hannah Bleau

“Florida law is that you have to be here legally to be able to be employed. That’s been the law for forever, and so when we have something like E-Verify, that’s a tool to make sure that longstanding Florida law is enforced,” he said, referencing the legislation he signed last week.

“You can’t build a strong economy based on illegality,” he said, noting that in addition to President Biden’s open border policies, there are essentially incentives for individuals to come into the country illegally.

While I agree that it should be the law of the land, it’s going to be really interesting when the guys that build all the houses and grow all the oranges start asking where all their workers are.

If DeSantis really wanted to do something, now that EVerify is the law in Florida, have the Florida Dept of Revenue investigate how many times one SSN is being used in different jobs across the state. Kind of hard to be framing houses in South Florida while working for a landscaper in Tallahassee.

The majority of the labor intensive jobs are overrun by persons from South of the border...been this way for a long time....IF they would crack down on companies that hire illegally present in our Republic the whole formula would change....The bitches and bastards who undermine us all while in D.C. are the source of it all. We have the manpower and laws and money to be self-sufficient yet our government is defecating on it all while they line their own pockets.

Governor deSantis opposes illegal immigration ...

So illegal immigration must be good.

Because desanctiblabla bad.

There’s some real insanity floating around here.

All points are very true. IMHO another step needs to happen to get rid of illegals. We have to become a culture again that's not afraid of hard physical work. By having much of the physical work done by illegals we've "trained" too many young adults (say under 40) that there's neither nor money to be made in hard work.

Of course, with no illegals then hard work would once again bring better pay like it used to. But we need to do a better job of convincing the younger electorate the value of self worth and good income and that it's all theirs for the taking with hard work and no illegals, especially now that many of them are opening their eyes to the worthlessness of their fake college diplomas majoring in blame-the-whitey. Some of the young adults are doing well in blue collar work. We need to do a better job of highlighting them while loudly say that the ones with fake degrees begging for handouts are the ones the left will try to euthanize here like they're already trying to do in Canada.

Tell that to all the local, state, and federal officials, both political and law enforcement who are having their pockets filled with Mexican cartel and Chinese cash. Their personal economies are strong indeed. I’m directing this at both parties, what else explains the total lack of any action to halt the largest land invasion in the history of the world?

Unfortunately, you can’t use eVerify during the process, but only after you’ve hired, and you can’t fire someone just based on an eVerify report.

Yep. You should’ve seen some of the comments here when Governor DeSantis came out in support of the NYC subway Marine.

People here are abandoning every conservative principle they’ve ever held in their efforts to oppose DeSantis.

It’s sad.

If they are not ever going back, issue them a SSN. They have to “pay their share”. Biden.

Other than hiring for the Florida state payroll, desantis will not be able to enforce many of these things — a federal judge will be found to invalidate them on the basis that the federal government has authority over immigration

Here in Florida, I’ve seen bosses and employees speaking Spanish only.

That’s in fence installation, irrigation piping, roofing, palm tree planting/maintenance, hurricane cleanup, lake-weed pulling, dock building, and anywhere physical labor is involved.

We’re encouraging slavery at the hands of the previous immigrant generation, and it’s too costly to send them back over and over again.

The USSR was bankrupted, and it’s our turn.
