Among 30% of Republican primary voters Trump has achieved cultlike status, as these voters claim they would vote for him if he ran as an independent even if that meant Joe Biden would be re-elected and the Democrats would regain control of both Houses of Congress.

That's the problem. Trump wins the nomination. The Democrats will mobilize their base to vote against Trump. Biden wins reelection.

I’ll write his name in if I have to.
There is no one else.

When we have elections, the election can often be a referendum on the individuals involved, as opposed to people voting based on party platforms and positions on various issues.

2024 should be a referendum on the incumbent seeking re-election.

Though it looks like we will see two presidents, each with a record as president, going before the voters, seeking a 2nd term, based on their performance in their first terms.

Not always. I’d say the dem win in Jax was fueled by the bimbos who support abortion on demand along with a local issue, the corruption over the sale of the utility. A local wanna be senator from Florida and former news reader managed to cobble those two groups against the GOP candidates.

It’s not ideal. Part of the focus needs to be rescuing the county from Biden’s dumpster fire

“2024 is Evolving into a Trump vs. Not-Trump Election”

well, then there’s the “biden vs. not-biden” faction as well ...

Or stated another way, do you wanted a failed elderly decrepit demented criminal or do you want a previous President who has an outstanding track record.

Trump is our last chance. The hill to die on (or live on).
