DeSantis Smacks Back At Trump on Glenn Beck Show: ‘He Turned Over The Country to Fauci’

In a phone interview with radio host Glenn Beck for the Thursday edition of The Glenn Beck Program, DeSantis finally punched back against those claims. A clip from their exchange began circulating Twitter via Citizen Free Press.

“I think he did great for three years, but when he turned the country over to Fauci in March of 2020, that destroyed millions of people’s lives,” DeSantis said. “In Florida, we were one of the few that stood up, cut against the grain, took incoming fire from media, bureaucracy, the left, even a lot of Republicans, had schools open, preserved businesses.”

So defending oneself from lies is now called having the vapors?

Meanwhile, Trump raged at Brian Kemp when Kemp told him to pound sand and ended the Georgia lockdown.

Trump says he told Kemp: ‘I totally disagree’ with move to reopen Georgia

Is partially why Trump seethes at him so much and tried to get Georgians to nominate David Perdue instead one year ago.

Some of my quilting friend ladies spent winters in FL, usually returning to TN in May. They told us about the FL lockdowns, the masks, etc., they had to deal with. Of course, they didn’t care; they were into it — but it happened.

RD caved to the lockdowns

DeSantis opposed the lockdowns, even after Trump released the "two weeks to flatten the curve" plan.

After those two weeks were over, and Trump wanted to extend the lockdown guidelines indefinitely, Trump personally called DeSantis, and convinced him to at least partially shutdown. DeSantis reluctantly agreed, albeit not to the full level Trump's guidelines recommended.

Do you need the links?

" He’d just have been another doofus lawyer or small-time pol without The Donald."

And Andrew Gillum would have been Florida's Governor. DeSaster only won by a very slim margin.

No excuse for the two week shutdown.
President Trump, being a germophobe, was obviously cowed by Fauci and the CDC medical community and went along with that idiotic measure. President Trump is not a doctor, nor a scientist, and he had to go along with the advice provided by the 'experts'. Too bad all of his 'experts' were Big State toadies who wanted to do everything in their power to get President Trump out of office. Thus the mandated mail-in ballots, and subsequent industrial strength voter fraud.
But the yearlong (or longer) shutdown, and Vax mandates were the responsibility of the Governors. We are supposed to be a Constitutional Republic (although I know that ship sailed away long ago), and the States had that authority to implement the job destroying, life suffocating, policies. Thank Gavin Newsome, and the other Lib Governors for that insanity.
Two weeks was President Trump's fault, the rest belong to the Dems and Media.

The guy said he would not run and fulfill his term as governor.

Completely untrue. DeSantis was asked this question many times, including as part of the official Florida gubernatorial debate, and never said he wouldn't run for President, and never promised to fulfill his term as Governor if he ran. His opponent Crist tried to make this an issue for the campaign, but failed. I live here and know, for sure.

Fauci’s serial exaggerating about AIDS in the 1980s should have warning enough! If Trump or his team had bothered to spend a 15 minute Internet search ( Did he have a team?) it would have shown that Fauci was not to be trusted and never should have been placed anywhere near a public microphone.

What a load of crap.

Trump opposed lockdowns from the start and never supported vaccine mandates.

Back in 2020, who knew Fauci was a fraud?

Fauci was a federal employee, so couldn’t be fired easily.

Trump refused to MANDATE the so-called vaxx.
Trump brought in Drs. Atlas and Alexander, both outstanding picks. Their expertise backed Trump’s decision to not force the vaxx.

Given the circumstances, Trump did better than any other would have done.

NO MANDATE!

"He should have said man the hospitals and ride it out...no lockdowns mo masks no vax."

Right, and the Democrats would have pounced on that, and impeached him for the second time, and then a third after January 6th. Chances are, enough Senate Republicans would have joined in on the second impeachment over Covid to convict Trump. I can believe that.

Trump, fabulous president made some mistakes. Desantos could be great president, will make some mistakes. Biden terrible president, has made huge mistakes his entire career. Trump is MAGA and De Santos is supported by Rino’s. We have to support MAGA. It’s the only way forward.

All of the mask mandates, beach shutdowns etc were done by County Commissions and Administrations. I work in one of the few blue counties in N. Florida and live in a red one. The rules at work and at home were completely different.

This is - and always has been - a bogus charge against Trump.

In the first weeks of the planDemic, when everyone thought it was a real pandemic, we all based our decisions on worse case scenarios, because that’s the prudent thing to do.

Obviously, the Left was going to try and turn it into Trump’s Katrina, so he had to walk a fine line so as not to fall into their traps. Deploying Fauci was a way to show the American people he was taking this unknown threat seriously, to quell the fear.

But very early on, as it became obvious the whole thing was a PR stunt with cooked-up fatalities that were impossible to verify - President Trump was one of the first to urge people to go back to normal.

He never wore a mask.
He never approved of the shutdowns (except shutting down Chinese flights to the US).
He took the “vaccine” before it was known to be fake, it he never advocated forcing people to take it.

President Trump has nothing to apologize for regarding his Covid response.
