Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to Donald Trump's recent attack on former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, saying that it was "really, really bad."
"Donald Trump, even his greatest supporters have acknowledged, had a tough time picking good people. He had a lot of terrible personnel decisions, people like Jerome Adams, his Surgeon General...so we know there was a tough record, but Kayleigh was one of the greatest selections. She did a fantastic job," DeSantis, who is also a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said while appearing on the NH Journal podcast on Friday.
DeSantis added: "She's a Harvard-trained lawyer, she's an absolute killer, and she ate the press alive, and so for him [Trump] to be attacking her, I thought that was really, really bad."

You don’t know what you’re talking about. You rinos don’t seem to understand the deep state. They will destroy their opponent and cheat, as we have seen all too well, whatever it takes. You seriously think the dems don’t have women lined up to claim DeSantis raped them in college? Seriously? They will come out in droves. DeSantis will eventually get himself indicted, even worse than Trump. If anybody can fight back and handle it, it’s Trump. He has the resources. Desantis doesn’t. Patriots are not going to back DeSantis in 2024 because if we give up on Trump, the deep state has won. They will be even more empowered to go after DeSantis. He can’t handle it. I say this as a Floridian. And Ron needs to wait until we has patriots on his side. Hi numbers are terrible. As for Kayleigh, she was for Cruz before Trump. What does that tell you? She jumped on the Trump Train when she wanted a job. Typical rino. Americans are for Trump.

DeSantis isn’t going to have women lined up to say he raped them, because he didn’t put himself in positions to have those accusations have even a whiff of validity. Trump on the other hand has. Do I think Trump raped anyone? Of course not. But he’s admitted boorish behavior time after time.
Who gave queers their legal status? It came deep from the state of Texas..and those in position to advise the Supremes stayed silent. And those in a position of power were elected to higher office. Some even call themselves principal conservative.

Lots of NeverTrumpers were trashing him last time, mostly the Cruzies who were some of the most vicious supporters anywhere. Now they call his supporters cultists copying the DNC talking points when they simply recognize he was the best President since Reagan and are willing to take the slings and arrows of the Establishment. Including labeling followers of Chist cultists.

TDS? I’m not one of those. I’ll vote for Trump in the general. But I live in Florida and these continuous attacks on DeSantis being some kind of RINO are beyond ridiculous. I’ve even seen FReepers attack DeSantis’ honorable military service in the Navy. I’m trying to figure out what the hell has happened to this place.
I get the loyalty to Trump and I love the man but when you use the same arguments against DeSantis that the libs here use, you deserve criticism. That doesn’t mean you have TDS.

The attack on Kayleigh was abhorrent, particularly since there was a poll that was evidenced that she was talking about.
But, yes, Trump’s comments about Cuomo show you can’t trust Trump on anything he says and he will do anything to win. There were thousands of people who were sent to Nursing Homes to die in the apex of the Covid virus.
Trump runs his campaign like a Democrat. Depending on the ignorance of his followers to believe lies.
I’m not going to trash Trump because I’ll vote for him if he wins the primary. But I cannot understand this venom directed at DeSantis for simply running.

The latest tack is that because DeSantis received a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service, it somehow taints him because Bronze Stars were being given to lots of people back in the 2000's and 2010's.
And? So? How does that impugn the military service of DeSantis?
The next thing you'll see posted is because he served as a lawyer in the military, his service was somehow less than legit. One FReeper impugned DeSantis because he did not service in the Infantry.
And? So? Apparently military personnel have to be in a combat arms branch to be seen as legit.
Here's what we do know - Ron DeSantis volunteered to serve in the US military. President Trump did not. Those are the facts.
Ron DeSantis did not impugn POWs. President Trump did when he took a swipe at McCain in 2015.

Admiral James Stockdale was captured and committed selfless acts of bravery while a POW. His military service as a POW elevated him to a legitimate war hero. The same goes for Jeremiah Denton.
I don't know if President Trump has studied Stockdale's Leadership Paradox. I hope he has.
I'm not saying that DeSantis is the answer. But his military was honorable. He served.
