Ron DeSantis Defends Kayleigh McEnany From Trump's Attack
Newsweek via MSN ^ | 2 Jun 23 | Matthew Impelli

Posted on 06/03/2023 3:45:59 AM PDT by Erik Latranyi

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to Donald Trump's recent attack on former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, saying that it was "really, really bad."

"Donald Trump, even his greatest supporters have acknowledged, had a tough time picking good people. He had a lot of terrible personnel decisions, people like Jerome Adams, his Surgeon General...so we know there was a tough record, but Kayleigh was one of the greatest selections. She did a fantastic job," DeSantis, who is also a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said while appearing on the NH Journal podcast on Friday.

DeSantis added: "She's a Harvard-trained lawyer, she's an absolute killer, and she ate the press alive, and so for him [Trump] to be attacking her, I thought that was really, really bad."

Yep, he sure did. Barnette could have beaten Fetterman. Was she perfect no? But she could hold her own on the campaign trail and in a debate, and would have run circles around him.

What could have been if Trump had kept his nose out of Pennsylvania.

Blah, blah, blah!

There’s a world of difference between supporting DeSantis in the primary and being a never Trumper. A never Trumper will vote Democrat in the general. We all know the names of those. In fact, those same people will support liberal policies just because Trump supports conservative policies. I lost respect for those people and I will never ever get it back. IMO, they were never conservative to begin with.

If Trump wins the primary then of course I will vote for him in the general and give him 100% of my support. Unfortunately the only Trumpers will take their ball and go home. For them it’s a cult of personality. For the rest of us it’s about a bigger cause seeing how the Dems are on the brink of destroying the country

Rob needs to get instructions from Rove, who in turn needs to poll and talk to his consultants. Then Rob says what they tell him 3-5 days later.

You are a Trump cultist who needs to LIE because you lack FACTS and you lack INTELLIGENCE. So, like a child, you make things up.

Karl Rove on advising DeSantis:

I’m a myth. I’ve met the man one time. I think it was May of 2021 when he came to speak at a conference that we had here in Texas to reward the volunteers and donors to a big voter registration effort that we had in 2020 and and again in 2022. And I think I maybe exchanged ten words with him. So if I’m controlling him it’s by the superior use of my mind to, you know, to send radio waves to control he and his wife and give them directions and they receive them, I mean, you know, it’s a sign of something that Donald Trump is so worried about. - Karl Rove

Does your label "NeverTrumpers" encompass those who voted for DJT three times already, yet prefer to support an alternate POTUS candidate in 2024? Curious minds want to know.

They use labels because they lack the FACTS and INTELLIGENCE to actually debate or defend their idol. They are cultists who just try to label/destroy anyone who is not in lockstep with the cult.

Yeah, this isn’t my first experience being screamed at by a street person.

Wish Reagan had kept those institutions open.

AMEN Erik! Exactly! I think Trump was the greatest President other than Reagan, but he just can’t stop the name-calling and going after someone if they don’t toe the line in some way. After 6-7 years of it, it tends to get overdone.

The people of Florida sure seemed to like him in the last election.

Like Totaly Man - is that why Ron Desencamonious did not chose Florida to announce his run for the Presidency? Was there just too much love of the Fl. Govner

It is time we realize that President Trump is only a few years less aged than is biden. I think that this episode may be an indication that his gears are slipping somewhat. If elected in 2024 he will be 79 years old soon after being sworn and 82 when his term ends. If he is nominated I will vote for him without hesitation. Even though I prefer a younger man to be in the White House, President Trump on his worst day is head and shoulders above the furniture stumbling jelly fish now in residence.

I’ve repeatedly said, if Trump wins the nomination I would gladly vote for him, the same goes for DeSantis.

The truth is, Trump will not stop the childish useless behavior, that’s who he is, that who he always has been and he’s not going to change. Believe me, in the past I too wanted him to change, after repeatedly acting as his own worst enemy, I came to the realization, he’s never going to change, hopefully in the future I’m proven wrong.

It might look like he’s changed for a couple of weeks, only to revert back when something riles him up, he can’t help himself, pushing for him to change is a pipe dream, IMO.

DeSantis is much more electable. In fact, in spite of the cult here

Irrelevant name calling aside, the problem with DeSantis is that he has all the wrong friends... His primary support comes from people like Mitt Romney, GW Bush, Paul Ryan, Liz Cheney, Mitch McConnel, and etc. etc... These Demopublican RINOs all preferred Joe Biden over President Trump and still do. They are all part of the “deep state”.

President Trump is an imperfect character as all other historically significant political leaders have been. But he definitely has all the right enemies.

There is no substantive evidence that DeSanits is more “electable” than President Trump. The vast majority of poling evidence shows the opposite, but more importantly President Trump has more charisma in his left pinky’s toenail than DeSantis does in his entire body. Only hype constantly dumped on us by political operatives supports the untenable myth of his electability in a Presidential election. He would just be the designated loser, like Mitt Romney was against Obama. What we need right now on our side is a fighter and thank goodness we have one.

Why wouldn’t you wait for a Trump-supporting interlocutor to say what you say they would say? Are you that impatient to criticize?

Could some of that loss be due to Floridians wanting Ron to stay in that State?

Good luck with that Big Blue Wall…..

Hillary thought it was strong, but Trump found the weak points.

The Democrats built it back stronger than ever, and Biden won.

Trump and his cult continue to act like it’s 2016 all over again, and Ronna is the way to win.

He will go down in flames in 2024, and take the GOP with him.

I live 40% of the year in Florida and DeSantis is a great governor and can be a great president. He needs to continue to talk solutions and not petty grievances like Trump. I know a lot of strong conservatives who are souring on Trump as am I and rightfully so. His time is done and he needs to take his ego and STFU.

“Ever hear of Meghan Kelly?”

I specifically said “his PRIMARY OPPONENTS in 2016. That would be Jeb!, Rand, Carson, etc.

Meghan was NOT one of his 16 opponents, just another MSM shill. Like Kayleigh.

“the worst favorite I’ve ever seen.”

Really, he’s terrible. I SO hated cheap gas, our young people not dying overseas in wars, healthy investments, etc. If that should ever happen again, it would be terrible. I shudder to think ...
