My viewpoint of people like John Kelly is that he has invested his entire adult life pushing a certain agenda. Along came Trump and Trump exposed the corrupt DC ‘Deep State’ agenda and people like John Kelly is mad as hell that all of his efforts over decades have been thwarted.

He doesn’t bow to them. He goes his own way. Remember High School? Human nature demands obedience and conformity to the in crowd (the important ones). Most follow.
The hate is an act - they fear him.
No one wants to admit they are afraid because fear is seen as a weakness. So, they say they hate him instead.
They are afraid because he’s coming for them. He intends to dethrone them all and return the power to We the People - and he’s already proven twice he can do it.
They sabotaged his first term, stole his second term - now they are trying to block his third term by putting him in prison - that’s high treason. They know if he gets back in the White House there will be Hell to pay.
