World well short of pace needed to meet UN’s 2030 sustainable development goals

The world is falling well short of the progress needed to meet the United Nations’ sustainable development goals by 2030 in areas ranging from poverty to clean energy to biodiversity, with a growing gap between wealthy and developing nations, according to a report Tuesday from the nonprofit tracking the goals.

The … United Nations member states adopted the goals in 2015. Now, halfway through the 15-year time frame, not a single one of the goals is on target to be met.

“We’re at the risk of a lost decade for sustainable development,” said Guillaume Lafortune, a lead author of the report.

Lafortune called particular attention to the “disappointing” United States scorecard, which he said was below average for developed countries. He said the U.S. was one of the worst performers in terms of its commitment efforts and was one of only five member countries that did not present action plans and priorities to the international community. But Lafortune did note that some U.S. cities voluntarily provided local reviews.

Lafortune called for countries to keep the sustainable development goals in mind as they approach the Paris summit and other global conferences. He said Paris has the opportunity to act as an “accelerator” toward reforming international institutions like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which he sees as possible elements of a global strategy for investment in tackling climate change and other sustainable development goals.

“Despite all the fragmentation right now in geopolitics, the many crises and so on, we still need to keep that sort of long-term vision and this idea of multilateralism and global cooperation alive. I think this is absolutely crucial,” Lafortune said. “I don’t think the world will be better off if we just forget about these goals because we won’t achieve them.”

Well, what if they simply made India and China meet these goals, but that would solve it without the US having to do anything further. (Hint: China and India are exempt from most of the BS imposed on the US and others.)

“We certainly would hate to disappoint the United Nations.”

A very small tactical nuke on their headquarters in Geneva would stop this for a while and warn the Swiss to stop harboring globalists. :)

2030 is just the old Agenda 21 rehashed and it looks like now they adopted AOC’s and Markey’s Green New Deal BS.

They adopted the WEF Agenda 23. That’s where all the greenie BS comes from.

If all the UN delegates and employees went into circular firing squads we could save the planet in no time!

World’s about 175 years short of implementing the Communist Manifesto, too.

They love to talk about their problems and invent “goals” for the future, but they have never been in much of a hurry actually to do something about any of these problems. If the UN had taken all the money they have squandered on wasteful, pointless annual clusterf*cks where they once again each year talk about global warming and how awful it all is, and used that money to launch a well-drilling campaign, they could have provided Africa with safe drinking water across the continent. Which is one of their “goals.” I use quotes for goals because they don’t really intend to reach any of them, so they are not really goals at all.

On African well drilling—there is a well known apparently true story about a Christian charity that drilled some wells in a poverty stricken remote African village. They trained the locals how to use the wells and figured everything was good.

A year later a couple of folks from the charity dropped by to see how the village was doing.....

It turned out the villagers had capped over the wells and refused to use them—and refused to explain why they had done so.

A neighboring villager explained what had happened.

It turned out that in the pre-well days the village had organized its day around sending all the children to collect buckets of water from a stream a good distance away—it took a couple of hours for the round trip.

Those were the two hours the adults reserved for sex!

Also the pandemic fell far short of killing off 85% of the world population as part of agenda 21/2030.

Today is apparently the 5th anniversary of Gretta TonsOfFunBerg’s proclamation that we all have but 5 years to cease using petroleum or we will all be wiped out.

Happy, Happy, Fun Fun, Joy Joy.

Because it is retardation on a world wide industrial scale. That’s why it’s so behind.

I thought the world was supposed to end today.
Isn’t what that fetal alcohol syndrome teen said?
I mean she wouldn’t steer us wrong?
So why any more taxes or changed to our lives?
