Latest NHC advisory, tracking path the same but forecasting a rapidly intensifying, high end Cat 2 now likely as it moves NE over very warm Gulf waters, still a late Tues/Wed. landfall.

Dont take your eyes off this one, everything can change quickly when it fully enters GOM.

Now have it hitting a major hurricane. I’m guessing that’s 3 or above? Track looks fairly the same.

Have y’all made a decision yet? I recall last year you left and went to a hotel a ways inland.

The water in the GOM is VERY hot. Last week it was top of the temp chart tying the Arabian (Persian) gulf as the hottest body of water. Imo it could “explode” before hitting land like hurricane Andrew did.

Hiya, FRiend. Hotels are already booked. Will likely drive across the state to stay with Mom. Was planning to visit her this week anyway. This time, I will bring the cats. Oh joy—three hour trip in the car with cats.

Local Orlando stations say as it stands today if the track remains the same Lake and Orange counties have 39+ mph winds. If it comes inland more south we could have 58+ mph winds. They are paying close attention to where this storm will make landfall.

IMO lots of people are going to be caught off guard with this one.

It’s getting dry as a bone here in Pensacola. You know it’s bad when I find myself hoping that Idalia (sp?) will actually hit here so we can get some rain.

I’m over near Orlando- I expect we’ll get a bit of wind and rain, but more like a tropical storm. Unless of course it turns east early!

Here in Pensacola, it’s dry as a bone, so if you get your wish, I won’t mind.

Thanks Nauti. Love your storm threads. The ‘canes themselves, not so much. Stay safe everyone south of the panhandle.

We’ve been very dry this summer too. 5:00 PM update yesterday announced we are under a hurricane warning. Within 30 seconds, the skies opened up and gave us a good drenching rain.

Has the absolute worst excuse for a POTUS limited our coffee and chocolate intake yet?

Not at all. In fact, he raised our chocolate ration from 30 grams a week to 20 grams.

Okay 4 to 7 feet on the storm surge map for Tampa Bay -— but does that include the peaking blue moon high tide?
