Vivek Ramaswamy says he'll deport children of undocumented immigrants born in the U.S.

ORANGE CITY, IA -- Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy says that as president, he would deport American-born children of undocumented immigrants.

"The family unit will be deported," said Ramaswamy when asked by NBC News if the deportations would include American-born children, after a packed town hall here Friday.

These children, however, are U.S. citizens, regardless of their parents' immigration status. The 14th Amendment states that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

When asked again if these children would be deported along with their families, Ramaswamy doubled down.

"That is correct," he said.

Ramaswamy, like some other conservatives, believes the 14th Amendment does not confer birthright citizenship.

"Under the legal theory that the child of an illegal immigrant is not someone who enjoys birthright citizenship, then it would be perfectly legally permissible to remove the entire family unit," he said.

As I understand, the Amendment which allows anchor baby citizenship was added to give citizenship to freed slaves. And a court case extended it foreign nationals having a baby on US soil. I believe the proper case could reverse the earlier decision.

I used to think that. But if you remember during the Obama years parents of central American children were sending their kids to the US *unaccompanied* in the hopes some day they would be able to follow them to the US. Tens of thousands arrived this way.

Unfortunately I am forced to agree.

Romney Swami had "earned" 1 million dollars the year the Soros family gave him $40k for school.

I know they (Soros family) say lots of things about how they always give this money to (disadvantaged) children of immigrants but I am sure I could find other Soros money going to his parents as well.

But Soros is a figurehead, he enjoys his position as much as Epstein did, but they are also only well compensated actors who enjoy their positions.

I know a lot of .Indians who are very well compensated for their work, and honestly some of them are smarter than I am I enjoyed talking with them (some .indian women as well) but the women were always treated like crap but they worked much harder than the men.

The other thing I noticed is that once they get into some kind of management position they would always hire a .indian before anyone else. I worked in a large building once where there were 5% natural citizens besides .indian there were a lot of Chinese, and also a lot of people from europe including the former soviet union, but they all tended to be the best and brightest.

but it was the .Indians and Chinese who increased as everyone else was pushed out.

I am sure Vivek is extremely smart, but I think he is a puppet and he likes it.

just like this other Vivek puppet.

Legally they would be dual citizens of the US and their parent’s nation.

They would be remanded to their deported parent’s custody.

When they are of age, they can return to the US if they choose to retain their US citizenship.

He can’t. That is a direct violation of the Constitution and will take about 5 minutes for a judge to overturn. Besides, he’s a son of two immigrants from India not yet citizens and was born in the US. Does he have to go also?

It’s not clear the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights permits that.

Folks are going to have to test that ICCPR rule soon in CA as Newsom soon signs passed bill forcing judges to separate kids from parents if they don’t affirm gender whims.
