Brilliant!!!!!!! Tell DeSantis that the 6 wk ban is STILL abortion. He should have demanded a total ban on any abortions…….

Better yet, EVERY republican in DC and nationwide should do the same thing. Then we can honestly lose every election nationwide, no cheating needed. Then we can sit back and watch Democratic leadership in every town.

Every person here that criticizes Trump for not banning abortions should be criticizing EVERY republican nationwide including DeSantis. Abortion is abortion is abortion regardless of the time frame. Stop being hypocrites.

If you’re still voting for republicans, you’re supporting abortion. It’s not about Trump, it’s about voter’s hypocrisy seen here often on FR. Rules for thee but not for me.

Why don't we look at this another way. Slavery was once permitted in this country - the legal right to own another human being and to do with him/her as the owner willed. Yet, this country finally came around to the truth that slavery was immoral and it became 100% illegal. There were no time limits or age for when someone could win their freedom - ALL slaves were freed. There were no compromises over slavery.

Is not abortion comparable to slavery? You have a human life that is "owned" by the mother and she is legally free to do with it as she wants up to the entire nine months. Using viability as a cut-off point is meaningless as babies are being saved earlier and earlier as technology and medical expertise advances. And let's be honest here, even a full-term baby could not "survive" outside the womb without the help of others. It's as much a human being at six weeks as it is at 40 weeks.

Hearts and minds MUST be changed in order to finally see abortion is just as horrible as slavery, if not more so. That can only happen by first educating people about what abortion is and the physical, emotional and spiritual damage it does to women AND others such as the father, parents and society. After the Civil War, no person who was pro-slavery stood a chance of being elected. Those taking a moral stance today will be the heroes of tomorrow where abortion won't need to be made illegal because it will be UNTHINKABLE.
