A shadow of 'Ukraine fatigue' hangs over Polish politics

From the beginning of Russia's full-on invasion, Warsaw has been a firm supporter of Kyiv.

It's often led the way in sending military aid and equipment, and argued passionately that this support is essential to protect Poland itself from Russian aggression.

There's talk of how Ukraine should be "grateful" for Polish support. This week came a warning from Poland's prime minister about ending weapons transfers, although others in his party then scrambled to soften that message.

But there was no misinterpreting the Polish President's words. Andrzej Duda compared Ukraine to a drowning man who risks dragging his rescuers down with him.

I posted this comment on another Poland thread in response to this comment here first in quotes for context, by another Freeper; the gist of it fits here too:

“Yours is a recipe for WWIII. You really think that Putin will ever give up Crimea which Kruschev on his own years ago literally sold Russia out and gave Crimea as a “gift” to Ukraine without the approval of anyone in his gov’t much less the Russian people? And it is their only warm water port where much of their navy is stationed?”

You joke. And under your scenario, Russia would start using tactical nukes. I just love you big talking warmongers as our U.S. tax dollars are being siphoned off in the billions on a useless, stalemated war with no winners and half of the adult male population in Ukraine being killed off, and it will take generations to build their population back up. And it will be mainly our taxpayer dollars that will be use to patch Ukraine back together again.

Biden has already started the graft machine up as the financing of the buildup by their favorite Dem contributing companies who will get the contracts and they are all going to have the expense of it funneled through, get this, the CLINTON FOUNDATION, all the money. It’s a done deal that has already been announced by the Biden Admin in conjunction with the Clinton Fdn so that all the crooked Dems involved, along with the Clinton/Biden families will get their cut.

How do you think that Biden is maintaining he and his family’s lavish lifestyle now that Hunter is neutered as a financial graft machine because the Pubs and the Public are on to him. Laundered money from selling his art is a mere pittance to the millions the Biden family was taking in from our major economic and military enemy countries, along with others (China/Russia/Ukraine/Romania/Uzbekistan, etc.

Zelenskii has Biden by the cajones, as he knows exactly what Biden’s son and old Joe himself were up to with their corrupt money making honeypot the Burisma oil company, from whence came much of their illicit millions of dollars. Biden, being subject to blackmail by Ukraine, has a deal with Zelenskyy that brings graft to them all.

We send over our tax payer dollars to Ukraine (none of it being accounted for). The Zelenskyy Admin and oligarchs get their cut, and in a manner to be ascertained if anyone is even trying to look for it, large chunks of that money is being funneled back to the Bidens and now the Clintons and others I’m sure. Probably to off shore accounts and/or now through the Clinton corruption Foundation as it always has been.

And who gets stuck paying the bill? That’s right, we the people of the U.S., the suckers financing a pointless war where there is a reasonable chance it could escalate into a new WWIII. And we call Russia/China dictatorships? What do you think we now have here in the U.S.? The same thing, right down to corrupt oligarchs, an authoritarian Biden/Dem Admin, Lawfare to tie up its political opposition in knots and siphon off their money by lawsuits and indictments, raiding Catholics and anti-abortion advocates’ homes, intimidating parents concerned about their children’s education (indoctrination) through threats and strong-arming them.

What do you call our own Dictatorship/Oligarchy? Not even counting the flooding of our country through our non-existent southern border with illegal aliens, and they get away with it all because of a weak-willed woke culture indoctrinated for years through our Marxist led Universities/Colleges, the leftist MSM, and Big Tech social media.

We are dumbed down now, and you play right into their hands with your globalist war mongering distraction to the detriment of our own people as those tax dollars that we fork over are going to finance a pointless, stalemated mostly civil war over the Dumbas area in Ukraine. Fools all.

I found the below comment on YouTube. I can't verify it, but from my limited knowledge of Polish politics, it sort of fits:

Well .. I am from Poland.. and I can say an Elections are very soon.. It sounds drastic but we probably have no much more weapons we could possibly give. We have big plans for the army but we had neither big or very modern one till last year.. old things are given, but new ones come slowly.. They just decided to make big noise about that to gain some election points from farmers, cos they knew weapons from Poland will not flow anyway.. We were biggest (at moments) Ukraine's supporter not because we had a lot of good staff, but because we gave what we had quickly, cos they needed it urgently. We don't block other military support coming through Poland,. and after Oct 15th I mysteriously prophesss it will be back to normal..
