Now bad people blame their own crimes and mistakes on white people.

Good chance the father was under the influence and waited long enough to prevent being tested for chemical/alcohol abuse.
That's probably why Shylock in The Merchant of Venice calls the judge "a second Daniel" when he thinks the judge is going to rule in his favor.

Perfect example of why you don’t want to be running around in some ancient 20 or 30 year old car. My 2022 crossover has a backup camera, ultrasonic sensors and rear automatic braking. It would be darn near impossible for me to back up and hit a child who managed to somehow get back there without being seen by me. I know what it’s like to run over a kid who tried to scoot around me on his minibike while I was backing up. The fact that it was his fault was of little consolation to me. It happened 3-4 days after I got my driver’s license and there was no technology back in those days to prevent this sort of thing. No way would that have happened in a vehicle like the one I have now. So all you Luddites who want to drive your ancient vehicles, I hope you never have to go through something like what I did, even if it isn’t your fault.
