Supreme Court rejects long-shot case to disqualify Trump from 2024 election

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a long-shot bid to challenge former President Donald Trump's eligibility to run for the White House in 2024 over his alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

Little-known Republican presidential candidate John Anthony Castro sued Trump earlier this year in an attempt to disqualify him from holding office over the Jan. 6 riot. The Supreme Court denied the case without comment.

Castro, who has not qualified for any of the GOP primary debates, said he still plans on exploring his other legal options.

"The Supreme Court can deny to hear the case but appellate courts cannot," he wrote Monday on X, formerly Twitter, after the high court's announcement. "I'm still pursuing decisions in the liberal appellate courts and there's a full blown trial scheduled for October 20 in New Hampshire and a bench trial in Arizona on October 31."

The Supreme Court's decision to not hear Castro's case comes as activists have attempted to keep Trump off the 2024 ballot by invoking the 14th Amendment, which bans politicians from holding some public offices after having taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and then having "engaged in insurrection or rebellion.

Why can't Kari Lake get a fast-track to SCOTUS?

Her lawyers have provided footage of one election worker sitting at a computer "verifying" signatures on hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots by simply clicking "NEXT" instead of scrolling down and actually comparing the signature on the ballot against the signature on record.

The Democrat hack judge said there was nothing in the law that specified how long an election worker had to take to verify a signature, and if it was alright with Maricopa election officials, then Kari had no case.

Now the Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to prevent an audit of these signatures because they know damned well that hundreds of thousands of them aren't anywhere close to matching the signature on file.

They are pulling out all the stops to delay Kari's case until after 2024.

This is a flagrant violation of the Constitution. There are two different standards of voter ID. If you go in person, you have to provide ID. But the cheat-by-mail-ins gets waved through with no checks.

Where the hell is SCOTUS?

If this issue is not resolved, then Basement Joe is going to get 91+ million 'votes' in 2024. I can't believe republicans are actually saying that Biden can't win in 2024 because he will be too old. As long as cheat-by-mail-in ballots are being used, he only has to have a pulse to get 'elected' again.

About time the worthless Supremes did anything vaguely helpful to preserving the republic. Jerks.

Oh, BTW Supremes, thanks for failing to hear anything related to the 2020 stolen election. That helped the country a lot.

Democrat roll call ... 95% back party’s agenda
Republican roll call ... 70% back party’s agenda ... 30% engage in hissy-fits and torpedo part’s agenda or are RINOs and outright oppose it like Mitch.

“I’m still pursuing decisions in the liberal appellate courts...”

The guy calls himself a Republican but openly admits he is judge shopping for leftists who share his goals.

Trump was acquitted of incitement to commit insurrection in a US Senate trial after the lunatic second impeachment with a week or so left in office.

So a formal adjudication has already cleared him with regard for this mad attempt at electoral tyranny.

But since the Senate trial was a political/civil matter, I imagine their next step will be to go the criminal trial route.
