Nearly four years after Covid’s emergence, plenty of people have tested positive at least twice. But an unlucky group has been hit with reinfection after reinfection.
“I’ve seen a few patients with five infections,” said Dr. Grace McComsey, vice dean for clinical and translational research at Case Western University. “Sadly, they were immunized and they still got Covid five times.”
Three people said their later infections were all less severe than the first — though there wasn’t necessarily a clear pattern of milder symptoms with each new illness. Even so, having Covid was still mentally and emotionally exhausting each time, they said, since it disrupted their work and time with loved ones.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified more than 2.7 million Covid reinfections from September 2021 to December 2022 across a set of regions containing about 45% of the U.S. population. But because some states stopped tracking reinfections or never recorded them, it’s not clear how common it is to be infected multiple times.
Doctors who study Covid say it’s not surprising that some people have gotten Covid more than once a year, given how widely the virus has spread and how frequently cases surge.
“The virus continued to mutate, so it has a way of escaping immunity,” said Dr. Miriam Merad, chair of the Department of Immunology and Immunotherapy at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
There aren’t always easy explanations for why a patient has gotten Covid many times, McComsey said, but a few factors could be at play. The most obvious is that if people are immunocompromised, their immunity from a prior infection is more likely to wane.
Reinfections do bring a new risk of long Covid, McComsey said: Each time someone gets Covid, it introduces another assault to the immune system that can result in long-lasting symptoms.
However, Merad said, young, healthy people shouldn’t panic about getting Covid multiple times.
“We are going to be reinfected, the same way we are reinfected by flu. But the most severe infection was the one that we observed when we were not vaccinated,” she said.

My daughter has had Covid 3 times and she has not had the vaccine. I’m lucky, her pediatrician refused to give that shot to her patients :0)
i certainly noticed my first infection (delta).
i have had a couple of short illnesses with very high brief fevers in the following 2 years. I wondered, since one does get reinfected with ‘the same’ coronavirus over time as it mutates, but it was over very quickly. when I see fever 102 (basically never seen by me in decades up until the last 2 years), I take the unnameable pills at least 1 day’s dose.

My mother was born in 1915. It is very possible that she had the Spanish flu as a child because I do not recall her ever having a cold or flu her entire life. She lived until age 96.

Thank you. I don't know how I forgot the name because I recall now joking that Mologic was similar to Moloche. Maybe too many people recognized the similarity.
Five is nothing, I caught Covid seven times! I work for the Sheriffs Office. Officer shortage required me to conduct Med Pass in Covid Pods and guarding Covod carrying Prisoners at the Hospital.

NEVER vaxxed.
Prior to COVID, I was an active, trim, healthy working wife and mom that never had any of these issues or seizures. Now I’m a housebound invalid. Had a seizure in my sleep last night. Every time it happens, I am at risk of SUDEP (sudden death due to epilepsy). Scares the heck out of my husband.
He told me it’s like watching me die over and over. His hair turned gray from worry. They happen weekly now.
There are a lot of long haulers like myself who got wrecked thanks to Fauci’s bioweapon. Don’t presume that all of us were sheep that got the vax.
Also, most of us will die well before our time. Fauci and China stole decades from my life. Instead of calling us silly names, you should be angry on our behalf.
We didn’t do anything to deserve this...except work to provide for our families.
I’m seeing Dr. McCullough next week. Fingers crossed he can give me at least a few more years. My youngest is still in high school. I need to stick around until he is in college at least.

I still wonder what the root cause was for CDC’s Dr. Timothy Cunningham’s death/suicide/whatever back in 2018 or what was his last straw. He was beginning to question vaccines.
Yeah, he somehow drowned in the Chattahoochee on his way home from work. A mystery.

Summarizing (biggest mistake #1 to least #10) :
1 - Ignoring natural immunity
2 - Using non-sterilizing vaccines during pandemic
3 - Not informing of risk of getting virus after vaccination (maybe quarantine after vax)
4 - Not using anti-virals in conjunction with vaccination
5 - Not vaccinating during peak waves
6 - Not paying attention to whether injected into bloodstream or not (dangerous if circulating in bloodstream)
7 - Too many injected instead of just high risk
8 - Not investigating potential dangers of selected antigen (spike protein)
9 - Using entire antigen rather than a tiny fragment (furin cleavage site left intact)
10 - Did not consider using other vaccines that might hsve protected against COVID19

That pretty much sums things up.
Indeed.
REAL docs and scientists warned, very early on, that this is exactly what would happen....if a population attempted to jab themselves out of a planDEMic.....the virus would mutate, while God given immune systems....were repeatedly compromised.

Another common denominator is they have no nucleotide antibodies unlike the unvaxxed.
