Turkey's Erdogan submits Sweden's NATO bid to parliament for ratification, presidency says

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Monday submitted a bill approving Sweden's NATO membership bid to parliament for ratification, his office said, a move welcomed by Stockholm as it clears the way for it to join the Western defence alliance.

Erdogan pleased his NATO allies at a summit in July by promising to send the legislation to parliament when it reopened on Oct. 1, having previously raised objections over Sweden's alleged harbouring of individuals who Turkey says are members of terrorist groups.

Since parliament reopened, however, Turkish officials have repeatedly said Stockholm needed to take more concrete steps to clamp down on the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militia before Ankara could ratify its membership bid. The PKK is deemed a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the European Union and the United States.

On Monday the bill on approving Sweden finally moved forward.

That’s no big secret. Every NATO member has veto power over who is admitted into the defensive alliance, including Turkey, which has been playing both sides against the middle.

I have always complained about Sweden’s “neutrality”.
It’s a concept based on dishonesty. Neutrality is UNTENABLE in this day and age. I’m happy the Swedish people have sucessfully pushed their politicians to embrace NATO. The Swedish people did that, it has to be noted.

If the Turk parliament ratify Erdogan’s NATO approval for Sweden, then Hungary will follow up right away (as they have previously stated).
After that... we can all celebrate Sweden as a new excellent NATO member and I can’t wait for that great moment!

Putin is the greatest NATO-expanding entity in the history of post WW2. He saved NATO. Many Ukrainian civilians had to pay with their blood though in order to wake-up the sleepy western world. But they succeeded. The incredible tenacity of the Ukrainian people is what’s saving the soul of the western world right now.

Erdogan would know a time in which, muslims now in Sweden, will subdue Sweden . . . and become a 2nd front for Erdogan’s ambition.
