This isn’t really about Trump. Nikki Haley polled much better in this poll than Trump did against Biden. DeSantis did about as well as Trump.
And “Generic Republican” (i.e. the normal conservative that has not been trashed yet for being “too conservative” by Trump) crushes Biden by over 10 points in every state.
This poll shows that Biden is hated, and the ONLY reason Biden could POSSIBLY win the election is if Trump is the nominee.
Well, if you believe Trump, they were able to steal his election from him when he was the actual President, so yes, they would likely be able to steal the election from him again.
I don’t need Don Trump to tell me what happened in 2020, saw it with my own eyes.
Only a fool would believe the election wasn’t stolen.
You are correct that this poll shows that, even with Biden entirely tanked, and hated by his own party, Trump can barely get within the margin of error of beating him where it counts.
But more optimistically, the same poll (which clearly everybody accepts as true as they are touting it for Trump), SHows that Nikki Haley beats Biden in all 6 states, in several of them by over 10 points, WAY above the chance for fraud.
And the Generic Republican, i.e. the one that Trump has not trashed yet, beats Biden in all 6 swing states, by an astounding 14+ points or more.
So the real message in this poll is this:
Generic Republican beats Biden by 15 points in Wisconsin. Haley by 13, DeSantis by 4.
Trump loses to Biden in Wisconsin by 2, an underperformance of 17 points.
The closest Trump comes is in Nevada, where he underperforms the generic republican by only 5 points.
So, the message is — we can pick pretty much any normal republican, and win easily without having to worry about our next President suspending the constitution, making a deal with Democrats to support Abortion Rights, continuing to impose unconstitutional restrictions on gun rights, or being in prison for leaking government secrets, or appointing a group of people WORSE than the group he appointed the first time, that he himself has dismissed as a pack of idiots who were bad for the country.
But half only support him if you put him against Trump.
Against a GEneric republican, in those 6 swing states, the generic republican beats Biden by 14+ points in every state.
People are ready to put republicans back in charge, just not a few specific republicans.
How? He was President, had HIS OWN PICK of FBI director and AG, had picks on the FEC, was IN CHARGE of the federal government.
He BARELY polls above Biden, who everybody hates, which means it will be a very close election.
He still can’t provide ANY evidence of all the fraud he says he knows happens, which means he is really bad at proving his point.
So how is Trump, who already LOST ONE ELECTION, going to somehow prevent the same fraud from happening again?
It’s not going to be by getting so many votes that they can’t cheat — heck, he keeps telling people they won’t even have to vote, as if his plan is to just stuff ballot boxes himself.
Meanwhile, according to this stellar poll, Nikki Haley beats Biden by 10% in most of these swing states — well beyond the ability to cheat.
I don’t particularly want Nikki Haley to be the nominee, I’d much prefer the one person running who has shown time and again he can actually get conservative things done, stand up to the media, and come out ahead. (That is not Trump, clearly).
But it is obvious that the 2024 presidential election is ours to lose, and the only way right now to lose it is to pick Trump.
ALl it takes for either of them to win the Nomination is for republicans to wake up to the disaster that would be a Trump candidacy, and to vote for one of them in the primaries instead of Trump.
I realize there is a strong base of Trump supporters who would stupidly give the country to the communists if they can’t get Trump as a candidate (although picking Trump will probably accomplish the same thing, so maybe that is the goal).
It wasn’t.
And the worst part is, in the places where there were clearly things done to improve democrat votes, things that were in fact against the law (not that the actual votes were illegal, just that the process of making sure those legal voters got their votes counted), the republicans COULD Have done all the same things the democrats did.
The biggest factor in 2020 was the stupid COVID rules that pushed mail-in voting, which made it much easier for people who didn’t care at all to vote.
The ANSWER for that was clearly to get republicans who weren’t going to vote to do mail-in voting, like the democrats were doing.
Unfortunately, the President pretty much told republcians to NOT do that, and to NOT even bother voting in the run-off election that gave the senate to the Democrats. Trump is STILL discouraging people from voting.
The smart republicans are embracing the stupid rules, because if the other side is doing it, you beat them by doing it better, not by surrendering like Trump did in 2020.
Anyway, I still would like to believe that smart people such as yourself don’t ACTUALLY believe the election was stolen, but just repeat the narrative because it is what you are supposed to do.

But you really don’t need that. The absurdity of claiming that he got 11M more votes than his benefactor Obama just 8 years before is beyond debating.
As for the Insurrection Against Democracy that occurred at 0400 4 November 2020 in Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee and Atlanta, only the blind can’t see that.
I think Obamanation will keep Biden in. Looking forward to his fourth term. I presume he wants Joe, cuz he will do whatever Obamanation wants.
According to that same poll, if Trump is convicted in any of his cases, support shifts to Biden 49% - Trump 39%.
Donald Trump got 12 million more votes in 2020 than he got in 2016.
Biden got 16 million more votes in 2020 than he got in 2012.
You could I guess suggest that Trump also cheated to get so many more votes.
Or you could realize that with Covid rules, and with courts in some states opening up additional easier voting plans (which in some cases should have been rejected, but do not indicate “illegal” or “improper” votes, just improper or illegal easing in legal voters getting to vote).
California had 17 million votes in 2020. 13 million in 2016, so 4 million of hte extra votes came just from that state — which of course made no difference in the results, since we elect by electoral vote, and california was always going to give their vote to democrats.
We made it super-easy to vote in 2020, literally sent voters paper in the mail and said “just check off your selection and throw it in the mail”. All of Trump’s voters are rabid voters who would fight a snowstorm to vote, but for a majority of America that found him loathsome, they probably would not have cared to vote, but given the easy opportunity, they clearly took it.
It didn’t help that Trump literally told voters who wanted to vote for him that their votes would be stolen if they did the easy voting, which caused them to wait for election day, and then a lot of them didn’t show up.
Trump could have pretty easily won Georgia with a bit of effort, not that it would have mattered, as he still would have lost by 4 states.
I think it was stolen. I have to engineering degrees and a minor in math.

what “evidence”? I mean, the link is well-laid out.
And maybe 3 of the things it lists are actual claims that people might have had votes counted that were not legal.
A lot of them are about changes to voting laws that made it easier for people to vote, and how those changes should have been rejected — but none of those links show any evidence that a single vote that was counted was cast by someone not allowed to vote.
Some of the links are about people TRYING to change things.
Links about Texas, Kentucky, and other states Trump won are, of course, meaningless to the discussion of whether Trump actually won, since he won those states so changes clearly did not make him lose.
There is literally no evidence in that link that shows enough ILLEGAL votes were cast to change the outcome in ANY of the states that were competitive that Trump ended up losing.
The closest state having a possibility of that was Arizona, and if you gave Trump Arizona, and then gave him Georgia, he’d still be the loser.
PA might have been competitive for Trump had the Supreme Court not allowed changes in voting, but even if you throw out the absentee votes that didn’t meet the original rules for post-election arrival, Trump still loses. And “curing” ballots certainly was unfair and gave Biden an advantage, but none of those “cured” ballots were votes cast by people illegally.
Arguing that because legal voters had help fixing their mistakes, we should take away their vote, may be a good Trump argument, but it isn’t a really good argument for freedom.
to which I respond — I would like to believe that smart people such as yourself don’t actually believe there is evidence enough to indicate the election was stolen, and that you are playing politics, because it is a shame when smart people get things that wrong.
