Tim McGraw has spoken out about healthcare on several occasions. He has criticized the high cost of healthcare in the United States and has called for universal healthcare. He has also supported policies to expand access to affordable healthcare.
In a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone, McGraw said, “Healthcare is too expensive in this country. People are going bankrupt because they can’t afford to pay their medical bills. It’s not right.” He went on to say, “I believe in universal healthcare. Everyone should have access to affordable healthcare, regardless of their income.”
McGraw has also supported policies to expand access to affordable healthcare. In 2018, he joined a group of celebrities in signing a letter to Congress urging the passage of the Medicare for All Act of 2019. The letter said, “We urge you to co-sponsor and pass the Medicare for All Act of 2019. This legislation would provide universal healthcare coverage to all Americans, regardless of their income or employment status.”
