Something about frogs and slow boiling water....
I seem to recall studies with rats (real rats - the rodents) where they kept increasing the population of their small habitat. At some point the rats started fighting more, eating each other, etc. I think they kept increasing the food content - so it wasn’t fighting over food - just the crowded conditions made them nuts and aggressive.
