It’s worth noting that his political party contested the legislative elections last month where 130 of 257 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 of the 72 Senate seats were selected.

His party won 35 of the lower house seats and 7 of the Senate seats.

In 1900, Argentina was one of the 10 wealthiest countries in the world, #7 if I remember correctly.

Then they discovered Peron style socialism.

The country still has the resources to be wealthy again and has a slightly higher population density than Kansas and slightly lower population density than Utah.

"Might turn out to be my retirement country based on what happens up here."

Ditto! I've done a good bit of business in Argentina in years past. Wonderful people down there.

Where does he stand on the Falkland Islands issue?

(I could look it up but it’s quicker / easier to just ask.) :-)

surely you’ve heard that Argentina would be the perfect country if it wasn’t for all the Argentinians that live there ...

I first heard that from an Argentinian on one of many work trips I took down there in the late 90s/early 00s.

Charming people who can’t seem to get out of their own way. 😏

Might turn out to be my retirement country based on what happens up here.

Any particular area of Argentina you have in mind for possible retirement? Are you familiar with Cafayate in NW part of country - south of Salta? It's a very small town in a high altitude (Andes foothills) wine-growing area. There's a development there with many ex-pats called La Estancia de Cafayate.

I was thinking that, but thought it might be in bad taste. It is. But what the hey. Victory is in good taste.

Just think how much money will be saved in Argentina if he can actually eliminate all of those useless bureaucratic
agencies.

Terrific very short videos. Hope it is real.

Watch Biden shun him.

When Trump is elected, the USA will create such profitable trade ties with Argentina that it will become a beacon of freedom and free economy in the face of a communization of South America by China and Iran.

This is a big win for freedom.

NOw we have to make it happen right here in America.

LETS ROLL!

It was an offhand remark but Argentina does have me intrigued. Other Freepers have sent me videos to check out regarding that country that I will watch later.

I am aware that Argentina used to be one of the richest nations in the world, with GDP growth for a while outpacing most other countries earlier in the 20th Century. In fact, Buenos Aires was once considered the "Paris" of the Americas.

Then socialism came along and wrecked it. A familiar story.

This is only one election, but it would be nice to see Argentia get back on its feet. Actually, there is no good reason why many of the South American countries should not be among the richest and successful nations on earth. Maybe this is the beginning of a South American resurgence.

Also plan to watch the Tucker interviw of Javier Milei (done a few weeks ago).

Milei has had an interesting life (and lifestyle). Freepers thinking he is a new conservative hero need to do a bit more research on him. He's certainly going to be a breath of fresh air for Argentina but his views are more libertine than conservative. Not a bad thing in my opinion. He is certainly on the right side of things in regard to wokeism, bureaucracy, gun rights, capitalism, and many other issues.

The radical Left is not happy at all with the results in Argentina!
