A deal between Israel and Hamas to free dozens of hostages and declare a multi-day ceasefire is imminent and could be announced by the Qatari mediators as soon as Tuesday, two sources with direct knowledge of the issue told Axios.
Why it matters: If the deal materializes, it will be the biggest diplomatic breakthrough since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
State of play: The Israeli cabinet is meeting Tuesday evening local time to discuss and vote on the deal.
Details: Two sources with direct knowledge of the talks said that as part of the hostage deal, Israel would release three Palestinian prisoners held in Israel for each Israeli hostage released by Hamas.

A cease fire at this point is a really, really, really bad idea. Hundreds of IDF will die as a result of allowing the Hamas vermin to regroup and be resupplied.
The contents of those 300 aid trucks are NOT!!! aid for the Pali in the street (most of which, incidentally, back Hamas and also hate Jews and Israel). Those trucks are bringing aid to Hamas.
Hopefully that's all the women and the children. Otherwise, Israel should say "no deal".

I’ve read the 4/5 days are for FINDING the hostages Hamas now says are being held by others...

Nothing Hamas says can be taken at face value.

that they don’t “ know” where the hostages are
..then it’s a good bet the hostages are all ready dead, all of them, and next Hamas will want more “ stuff” in exchange for a promise to turn over the bodies,, that they will also never do.
Agree. Should be a different arrangement. Execute 300 Hamas captives every day until all the Israeli hostages are released. And keep bombing Gaza.
It should be 3:1 the other way. Absurd.
I am happy for the families that will get loved ones back but this just encourages more hostage taking. Now if they subsequently execute one Iranian mullah for each prisoner that would be acceptable.

Needs to be all or none. Otherwise hamas will dole them out 50 at time for a unending cease-fire while they rebuild.
They could promise to free "all the women and children," but how can Israel be sure about "all?" Does Hamas know how many total hostages, let alone ages and sex?
Israel gets to release the Palestinian hostages. So of course, Israel will have to get all of their hostages back first.

I say trade all of the hostages (or their remains) for ALL of the Paliscum in jail in Israel....as they walk from the gate to Gaza city, send in AH-64s and wipe them out.
