The American population is looking more like Asians, with voluntary face masking as people go about their daily routines.
Rates of COVID-19 are manageable, normal life has resumed and mandates are gone, with few exceptions at discrete businesses or schools. Yet masks have gained a foothold in American society, a remarkable change after face coverings sparked public spats and questions about cultural acceptance.
“Masks are at least acceptable, even though they are not widely employed,” said William Schaffner, an infectious diseases specialist at Vanderbilt University. “At the moment, there’s a segment of the population that is very interested in health, very interested in prevention. I think they tend to be older.”
Mask use is not as ubiquitous as it was at the height of the COVID-19 crisis in 2020 and 2021. Still, it is not unusual to see a smattering of people wearing masks at grocery stores, at indoor concerts or on commuter trains.
Ray Meeks regularly wears a black mask with his green cap and fluorescent jacket as he works as a crossing guard at a busy intersection in Maplewood, New Jersey. He caught COVID-19 in 2021 and would like to avoid a repeat.
“It wasn’t nice,” Mr. Meeks said. “I’m 70 years old and, you know, I guess it’s easy for my immune system to be compromised.”
A KFF survey taken this month found that 30% of Americans would consider wearing masks in crowded places when asked about COVID-19 precautions for the colder months.

Almost NONE here in North Idaho. I imagine the rates are much higher in state capitols (especially in blue states), in university cities and around DC.
It’s probably wise to avoid the maskophiles. Either they are sick and don’t want to spread something, or they want you to think they are sick so you don’t get close to them. Or maybe they just don’t want to be recognized.

I previously saw a similar billboard that spoke out in praise of masking up. Sickening.
Masks are:
1) a sign of submission, subversion and subjugation
2) mandated in order to dehumanize
3) virtue signaling devices
4) meant to provide constant reinforcement of fear
5) used to destroy community, friends and family normal communication
6) implemented to create isolation, confusion, anxiety, destroy human connectivity, trust and interactions
7) mandated to exacerbate illness
8) intended to aid in the abandonment of the belief and reliance on our immune systems
9) intended to refute integrous science
10) signal to positions of power that you are willing to give up all of your rights and freedoms based on anything they say, even if it is a BIG FAT LIE!

When I see someone wearing a mask, I know who they voted for.
You are going to touch this with your hands and spread it on any surface you or the mask touches. Then you or others are going to touch the mask and/or the contaminated surfaces. Following that, you will touch your face, eat food, etc., and transport the virus into yourself.
Only full MOPP gear, properly worn, with proper decontamination will protect you. You will need at least two other people also in MOPP gear and you will all need to be trained in how to don, test, decontaminate and remove it.
Anything less is just a sick joke.
I have noticed that black people are more likely to wear masks than other races. Asians seem to be the second most likely.
