The DeSantis campaign, a super PAC linked to him and a nonprofit group supporting him together paid $95,000 in recent months to the Family Leader Foundation, an Iowa-based nonprofit led by evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats, according to campaign finance reports and a document prepared by an Iowa state lawmaker who was helping the Vander Plaats organization raise money for a July 14 presidential candidate forum.

“Well well well....I seem to remember back in 2016, Trump blasting this guy because he asked Trump for 100K to endorse him. He ended up endorsing Cruz.”
Well, at least we know how this ‘preacher’ makes a living...
lol.. this was a summer headline by the bots supporting the lockdown, big pharma prez. What the lockdown big government spenders are won’t tell you is Haley and Romneswamney paid it also.
But hey what’s truth got to do with it. Big pharma a gov medical pays more.
Bob Vander Plaats, an evangelical leader in Iowa, has admitted to being paid 95K by the DeSantis campaign prior to his endorsement. What a waste of money – considering this guy was happy to be a Never Trumper for free.
(Reuters) – The DeSantis campaign, a super PAC linked to him and a nonprofit group supporting him together paid $95,000 in recent months to the Family Leader Foundation, an Iowa-based nonprofit led by evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats, according to campaign finance reports and a document prepared by an Iowa state lawmaker who was helping the Vander Plaats organization raise money for a July 14 presidential candidate forum.
The document and the amount spent by DeSantis and his allies are previously unreported.
For that money, DeSantis and supporting groups got three pages of advertisements in a booklet distributed at the July forum attended by 2,000 Christian conservatives, and tickets to the summit, lunch and an after-dinner event.
But the real value may be more in building a relationship with Vander Plaats, whose endorsement is coveted in the early-voting state, said three campaign finance experts and an academic who studies Iowa campaign spending.”

Desantis could have helped unite the Republican Party by endorsing President Trump for 2024. Instead, he chose to run against him and divide our country further in an act of sheer desperation. Please clap…
Up until a week ago, DeSantis and Haley were blasting each other in the west Iowa market near Omaha. Since then, I’ve seen mostly Trump commercials showing his strength through leadership on the world and economic fronts. Maybe the focus is in the mid part of the state now but it appears Trump has a lock on the west side of the state.
Agreed. Someone played to his ego when he should have set on the sidelines while supporting Trump. DeSantis is starting to get the Romney stench in my opinion.
The payment reflects badly on both its giver and its recipient.
It really does. I hope DeSantis at least got a commitment to endorse in 2028 as well. To spend $100,000 on 2024 against Trump is just wasting money.
Plaats is a whore
Ron DePayoff. 😏
Ron DeSantis is ripe for the democrat party Soros cash in action.
That was a waste of money, LOL.
Big donor mentality. This is the kind of greed and corruption that got us where we are.
well, Bob, we not only know what you are, but even know your price!
All the campaigns give that group $$. 95K is chump change for that endorsement. It is worth many millions.
All campaigns don’t give in to Bob Vanderpaid. He tried to shake down Santorum for $1 million dollars in 2011, Romney in 2008 and Trump in 2016 - they all refused. Team DeSantis on the other hand paid. Clearly the endorsements are for sale. More on this later.
Bkmk
You think Trump can unite the Republican Party? Think again. This is laughable.
