Good riddance to bad rubbish . Directly responsible for the deaths of 4 million people both domestic and abroad between 1969-1976 .

I have. So far, all indirect references with no primary source who heard it directly.

I was referring to the Israel bleeding quote.
But for this quote, to me it’s apparent that Kissinger is joking with dry humor. But I do understand how people could conclude differently.
I don’t think that one quote defines his public service, any more than one quote defines the public service of an official. I look at the body of work. And discernment is important.
Sometimes, the best that can be said of someone is that “He angered all of the right people.” But Kissinger seemed to anger everybody. Both sides can point to terrible things he did - which to me means he represented the interests of the Permanent (Deep) State with methodical perfection.

Second former Secretary of State to live to celebrate his 100th birthday. George Shultz was also 100 when he died (but less than 2 months after his birthday so Kissinger beat him by a few months).

i was a 17 - 19 when all the stuff happened.. hated the media ever sense,

I know what he said about Mao and Zhou and the Chinese Communist Party.
More importantly I know what he did.
Fewer more harmful public servants than this guy in US history.
The world is much worse today because of him
He deserves nothing but contempt for his utter corruption and amorality.

His interactions with and seduction by Mao and Zhou changed him and subsequent riches made available to him by their successors caused him to completely lose his way.

Like every “great statesman,” he did great and terrible things, and all of it very complicated and involved.
