Countries have a mammoth task ahead as they gather for the COP28 climate summit in Dubai. They are way off track for preventing “climate catastrophe,” and scientists are sounding the alarm that time is running out to slash fossil fuels.
Data from Climate Action Tracker, an independent research group, reveals how much planet-heating pollution is still being spewed out, who are the biggest polluters and how much progress still needs to be made.
The world pumped out around 50 billion metric tons of planet-heating gases in 2022, according to this data. China was the largest climate polluter, making up nearly 30% of global emissions.

Then maybe they should hold the COP28 climate summit in China. And between meetings, they could walk around and scold random Chinese citizens.
I had tomatoes ripening on the vine into NOVEMBER this year in SW Wisconsin...they’re usually kaput by mid-October.
It was a dry summer, but not really HOT, other than for a few scattered days. Not much humidity for a change, but that was due to the drought.
Even WITH drought conditions and NO irrigation, the corn, alfalfa and wheat harvested all around us was spectacular.
I will take a growing season like the one we just had over a wet and cold one ANY year.

Yep. And the real tragedy is that every dollar that goes to fight non-existent “Climate Change” is one less dollar that can be used to repair bridges, fund medical research, etc.
Our efforts to achieve zero CO2 emissions will never keep with the increases of China and India. The only thing our programs are going to impact is the bottom line of the environmental hustlers and corrupt politicians. At our expense, of course.
There will never be enough progress.
Progressives always want to progress.

It is real “climate crisis” around here—summer followed by fall followed by winter followed by spring followed by summer.
This is a crisis.
The only cure for it is to have the peons eat bugs and drive their masters in rickshaws.
The country that is the biggest violator is the one who will not be held accountable.
Mere "Climate Change" doesn't sound urgent enough because everything is always changing anyway.
