Study: Children of Conservative Parents Have Better Mental Health

Children of conservative parents are more likely to have good mental health compared to children of liberal parents, according to a new Institute for Family Studies (IFS) and Gallup research brief published Thursday.

“As it happens, being raised by liberal parents is a much larger risk factor for mental health problems in adolescence than being raised in a low-income household with parents who did not attend college,” wrote the brief’s author, Jonathan Rothwell, the principal economist at Gallup and a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

“Only 55 percent of adolescents of liberal parents reported good or excellent mental health compared to 77 percent of those with conservative or very conservative parents,” the study found.

I believe we can take it as far as to conclude that conservative adults have better mental health than liberals.

I read the lib news rags, NY Times, WAPO, etc.

And the majority of the stories are written to create anxiety in the readers, (which of course are mainly liberals).

The stories create a constant drumming of Covid-anxiety, climate-anxiety, gun-anxiety, and of course Trump-anxiety.

The stories are written in order to keep their audience fearful and easily manipulated and controlled, which in turn creates a mental health crisis among these leftists and it gets passed down to their children.

That is the certainly the main reason. After that, we are more likely to react and make decisions using our brains instead of our emotions which is an extension of the main reason. God tells us to be sober in our daily life and to seek wisdom. It’s difficult to go wrong from there.

There is a woman on YouTube who runs a channel called "The Crappy Childhood Fairy." She is not a licensed psychologist, but I swear, she is one of the most matter-of-fact, clear-headed therapists out there, because she learned everything the hard way. Born and raised in Berkeley CA to alcohol and drug-addicted parents who were into "swapping" and similar parties; "free range" children who were also exposed to their parents fights and physical abuse; random strangers invited into the home who liked to hunt children; siblings who died of drug overdose... her background story is a nightmare of a childhood abuse growing up in the 70s hippie culture in California.

Her story is bad enough, but then you listen to her videos, where she reads through letters sent to her by people going through these issues and giving them advice, and then go into the comments and read the stories others have been through, and you think, "Lord'amercy, these people have been through absolute hell. No wonder things are so messed up."

Children need stability and rules. The less of that there is in a child's life the more neurotic they will be. The world is big and scary and they are soft and vulnerable. Having rules, structure and certainty makes things a bit less scary.
