Just to add insult to insult, so I presume we also have a lot of positions in say CENTCOM related to deterring terrorist aggression against ourselves and allies. So, was anyone fired as a result of the clear failure of deterrence against terrorist aggression in the case of Hamas? Of course when you are paying Hamas to do what they were perparing to do, maybe your concept of deterrence needs to be rethought, but I am not a diplomatic genius like Blinken or a military genius like Sullivan or Austin.
It's not the job of the U.S. to police the world.
