As most folks on FR realize, I do not support Trump for 2024, but I do believe this is a bad decision, very bad, and I have to think the US Supreme Court will overturn it. Trump did not commit insurrection!

Trump did not commit insurrection! Mr. Trump has not been charged or convicted of insurrection. What is the Colorado Supreme Court’s justification for excluding an eligible candidate? At the moment I don’t think I have the stomach to read through the opinion.

I think it's possible that Dems want SCOTUS to overturn this ruling, so they can try to fling mud at Thomas and Alito when they retire. Another idea is to try to pack SCOTUS with marxists, by having congress pass a law to inflate the number of justices in SCOTUS, so that a future Dem POTUS could nominate them. To do that, they would have to kill the filibuster rule in the senate, or replace native American voters with "immigrants" to produce 60 marxist senators.
