All 911 calls are instantly traced, so they would know where the call originated.

I agree that scenario is very possible. If not official Fed employees, then persons closely connected and using information from the Feds in order to mask their own phone number. In addition they may be given personal information concerning their targets as to their address, family members, times at home, usual routes of travel etc. This is truly getting scary to think there are actually people who think this behavior is something we should accept and become used to occurring on a regular basis. For instance, who here at FR would do such a thing? Or, even think of it?

In the case that was mentioned in post #9, it was an internet call with a spoofed number to appear to originate in the city/town that the cops killed the victim.
*My opinion is that the feds have the tools to trace these internet calls, but choose not to.
They have computer programs that can make the calls, completely anonymous, hide the number or provide a bogus one and that’s it.
