The Supreme Court will decide if Trump can be kept off 2024 presidential ballots

The Supreme Court said Friday it will decide whether former President Donald Trump can be kept off the ballot because of his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, inserting the court squarely in the 2024 presidential campaign.

The justices acknowledged the need to reach a decision quickly, as voters will soon begin casting presidential primary ballots across the country. The court agreed to take up a case from Colorado stemming from Trump’s role in the events that culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Arguments will be held in early February.

Think Bolshevik revolution, Maoist culturist revolution and the National Socialist revolution in Germany.

Looks like history may repeat itself here.

Start praying and volunteering to oversee elections that we don’t see other countries histories repeat itself here.

And I’m a desantis supporter

Out of curiosity... Why?

Think he can do a better job than Trump?

Trump fought a level of high corruption that I had no idea existed to this extent.

Not sure DeSantis could do this.

Pretty sure judges aren’t allowed to just decide Trump committed insurrection without charging and convicting him.

I’m not sure about this. It’s clear Roberts is compromised. I wonder if he’s the redcacted one...

Even if Trump had participated in an insurrection the amendment would not apply to him. It states,

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States,...”

Someone please show me where this can be applied to an ex U.S. President? He never took an oath as a member of Congress and the President is not considered an officer of the United States. Certainly he was never a member of any State legislature, or an executive or judicial officer of any State. I hope that is the question SCOTUS settles.

He has also never been charged with insurrection, which is their excuse for trying to keep him off the ballot.

Back-up: The party can always run a caucus. There’s no ballot or balloting and no voting machines are needed. Nothing mailed in, either, from what I’m given to understand.

Correctomundo:

stemming from Trump’s role in the events that culminated in the Jan. 6, 2021, false flag attack on the U.S. Capitol, by the FBI’s counterespionage unit under a continuing Operation Crossfire Hurricane.

So the question arises, can the states add further restrictions on a constitutionally mandated presidential election process like they have done with guns and free speech?

“If Trump is disqualified after winning the election, the Republican VP takes over as President, instead of the Democrats’ plan to remove Trump so that Biden can win the election.”

That’s why Deep State wants to select Trump’s VP.

“...because of his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss...”

That is an immediate purposeful LIE by the scumbags at MSN! Trump did not try to overturn an election loss.

Trump was trying to prevent evil Deep State coup plotters from succeeding in installing an illegitimate brainless puppet president. The 2020 election was a deliberate in-your-face coup against the American people.

If you count all the legal votes submitted by American citizens during the 2020 election, Trump won, period, full stop!

You’re voting for a slate of electors pledged to “Smith”, and you’re doing so only because your State Legislature chose to allow you that privilege...

Just conjecturing that to be an elector, one must be an American State National. (8 U.S. Code § 1101)

Citizens vote, while ASN's elect.

Well, they take it, it's overturned.

Now it it 9-0 Roberts, or 5-4 Alito?
