Ron DeSantis isn't going anywhere if he loses the Iowa caucuses, his campaign claimed after a report said the Florida governor was looking at dropping out if he loses the first primary contest.

The campaign said the anonymous sources named in an op/ed from The Hill are from Donald Trump's team and meant to plant a false narrative in the days before Iowa's caucuses on January 15.

'Team Trump must be getting nervous,' DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin posted to X, formerly Twitter. 'They're acting like the leftist media, pushing fake news from a hack op-ed and anonymous sources.'

The only thing happening here is DeSwamptus is setting himself up for lots of Monty Python “Knight Fight” memes.

Will DeSwampy call for a draw when he is a mere stump in the ground?

‘hack op-ed’

That was nothing.

If DeSantis gets the nomination, the next op ed will include inappropriate behavior at a high school party with underage drinking and underage girls who recall him pushing them into a room upstairs and down on a bed, locking the door behind him.

He won’t remember any of it, but they will.

Trumps been through the fire and is hardened carbon steel, aside from not being a douchebag.

The above was national. Here’s Iowa, though it’s 3 weeks old:
“Emerson College polling from December 15 to 17 had similar results. Trump was backed by 50 percent of respondents, whereas Haley had the support of 17 percent and DeSantis was supported by 15 percent. The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.7 percentage points with 420 likely voters included.”

Also, DeSantis says he doesn’t pay much attention to polls. Yeah, you can see why.

Wishful thinking. I really doubt Trump is desperate.

Ron just keeps hanging around like a bad smell. He’s single handedly rehabilitating Ted Cruz. 😆

As if "The Hill" is at all interested in helping the Trump team.

Desperation is boiling up, but I don’t think it is much in evidence with Team Trump.

I like Ron, really I do, but this run for the Presidency was just too much, too soon. Now he is so badly wounded that 2028 may not be quite as viable as it once was. I blame the money people much more than I do Ron for this veer into the ditches.

Ron’s only chance from Day One was Democratic lawfare.

The Democrats are still trying hard to take Trump down.

Desantis is my 3rd favorite politician, behind Marsha Blackburn and you know who. The Governor is term limited in Florida, so I guess he took his shot early. He would be a good secretary in President Trump’s cabinet.
