I was pretty sure that I knew what they meant with "HIV-related criminal case" - I posed the rhetorical question in order to express my ire and impatience with stupid journalists who can't / don't dare state the plain facts in the first sentence, and instead prefer resorting to obfuscating circumlocutions.
