With VERY FEW exceptions, it seems the minute even the most well-meaning conservative gains any power in D.C. they immediately start prioritizing their membership in the D.C. insiders’ club above all else, especially above doing what is right for the country. I don’t know what they put in the cocktails at those cocktail parties, but it must be pretty powerful.

I think you’re right. The War Room Posse has been quite effective over the last few years. And MTG, too. She’d be a good VP, but would receive the Palin massacre if chosen.
