There’s talk that Haley’s being backed by the Uniparty, not just to take out Trump, but to beat Biden as well. The feeling is that Biden’s approaching the point where he will lose to whoever becomes the Republican nominee. Under those circumstances, Nikki is someone they can live with. She doesn’t even try to pretend to be pro MAGA the way that DeSantis and Vivek do.
I saw this as “We know you don’t like how things are going, and you might despise Biden, but that doesn’t mean you have to vote for Trump! Here, see! Other people can win as well!”

Haley would be worse than Biden. A Haley President would result in a super majority for Democrats in Congress and a Democrat taking over the Presidency in 2028.
