“That makes them traitors in my book - and I think a ton of Republican voters feel exactly the same as me.”

Correct.

The deeper issue is courage.

Who has the courage to stand up to the Deep State?

Both DeSantis and Nikita proved they did not have the courage to state that the election was stolen and they did not have the courage to stand up for the J6 political prisoners.

That makes them useless—the average garbage collector or dog catcher has more courage and integrity.

You’re right - it’s lack of courage.

But the lack of courage quickly leads to self-deception. Once they convince themselves the election wasn’t stolen, and that Trump and his supporters are the bad guys, they are at peace in their deluded reality.

They even feel virtuous. They believe THEY are the courageous ones!

DeSantis has never risked anything in his political career. He had the perfect set-up in Florida where he could play the tough guy with a super majority state legislature. Trump has fought the tough fight with the deep state, putting himself at great financial and personal risk. Ron’s never done anything like that. It’s shameful that he tries to put himself in the same category as Trump. He’s like a boy playing cops and robbers except in this case he’s playing MAGA warrior vs Deep State. It’s all pretend with Ron. There’s no risk of being thrown in jail or worse for Ron like there is with Trump.
