It shows the man is totally under the cabal’s control. If we know what you just stated DeSantis certainly knew it too. They were all banking on Trump being booted off the ballot and here comes RDS to save the day! It’s all blown up in their faces.

I don’t accept the premise of this report.

Ron DeSantis was such an awful candidate in 2023-24 that he destroyed his brand for 2028. His pathetic campaign this time around will hang around his neck like an anchor.

“Florida governor ‘says Trump supporters have promised to vote for him in the next election “

That died a year ago when he started talking like Pelosi and Schumer. It was like he made it a mission to lose as much support from the base as possible.

Four years is a long time. There are not many apparent good choices now. Carleson, Paul, Hawley, and Trump’s son are four that come to mind. Perhaps Vivek and DeSantis. There are a lot of no way such as Haley, Kemp, Christie.

Don’t blame Casey. DeSantis is a big boy. If he’s that much of a cuck that he can’t make his own decisions, better to find out now. As far as “incalculable damage to the conservative cause”, I don’t know what you’re talking about. DeSantis’s folly won’t even register as a blip on the big picture.

If something catastrophic happened to Trump it’s not as if Nikki Haley would be getting the nomination by default.

Is the convention in July or August? Remember the convention officially nominates presidential candidates at that time.

If something catastrophic happened to Trump before then, all of his pledged delegates at the convention would then become free agents ,and free to vote for other candidates at that time.

It’s not as if delegates would have to choose only among officially declared presidential candidates as of now. Candidates who are not officially declared as of now could be nominated by the convention.

Ah, the ‘high road’ desantis supporting, ‘not a desantis supporter’ shows up...

It doesn’t matter who the delegates pick at the rnc convention.

If the rnc takes Trump off the ballot, most of us Trump supporters will write him in in the general election, or not vote at all.

We are tired of the ^@#$@! swamp GOPe rino uniparty.

So Haley was the second choice for the majority of DeSantis voters?

From what I've seen on Twitter, where there are a lot of DeSantis voices to listen to, many of them consider themselves "formerTrumpers" (not "neverTrumpers") and therefore despise Haley, and would never vote for her. The rest of them, maybe even as many as half, have the vaccines and gain of function as their primary issue, and are planning to vote for RFK Jr if Trump is the Republican nominee. They don't see a lot of difference between them on the other leading issue, but also because they don't think Trump can win, anyway.

Sounds like he’s just trying to save face while being voted off the island.

The one thing we’ve learned about DeSantis is that he’s not his own man. He can turn into Trump’s greatest cheerleader from here on out and it won’t change that.

DeSantis in 2028? No way he burned too many bridges.

This is a firm never Trump voter. I don’t think he is interested in anything an America First voter has to say. It is what it is.....😊😊

I don’t know. I was an early supporter of RDS. He was a lousy campaigner. Maybe a Calvin Coolidge type will be great in 2028, but not now.

4 years is a loooong time in politics. It would have been best if he had taken the high road as regards to Trump, but he has attacked Haley, and others, and after all, it’s normal to attack your opponents, including Trump. Even Vivek, who has backed Trump and refused to trash him, trashed the others. DeSantis should have laid off Trump, but I guess he thought trashing him would benefit himself. He thought wrong, but still he is, at this point, the best candidate for 2028. But, that’s a very long time away.
