Arizona GOP Chairman Jeff DeWit allegedly attempted to offer money to Kari Lake to keep her out of the 2024 U.S. Senate race, in a recording posted on Tuesday.
In an audio recording obtained by the Daily Mail, the authenticity of which was confirmed by Lake to Just the News, DeWit allegedly made the offer to Lake in March 2023.
The Daily Mail confirmed with two sources that the identity of the other speaker on the recording was DeWit.
A transcript by the Daily Mail of the exchange is below:

"Just say, is there a number at which...." DeWit started.
Lake cut in: "I can be bought? That's what it's about."
"You can take a pause for a couple of years. You can go right back to what you're doing," DeWit said.
Lake repeatedly said she wouldn't do it for millions of dollars or a billion dollars.
"This is not about money, it's about our country," she said.
The Arizona GOP didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

This guy in AZ is a grade-A slimeball, but he’s just typical. This is why I don’t get very excited when people get all wound up over “losing our majority” - what exactly the hell is the difference between most Republicans and a Democrat anyway? They vote for the same shit, they screw over the veterans and US citizens in favor of sending billions to Ukraine, they won’t even censure the bastard who is responsible for polluting our country with illegals.
I care about people, like Kari, who puts the country first. Not a party. Not ANY party.

That's an important point. We all know that secretly recording someone can be a crime in some states as project Veritas pointed out.
My guess would be one of our esteemed intel agencies. Wait that makes no sense, they would not like to help Lake.

Ol’ Jeff Dimwit is an enemy of the state, obviously, and should be dealt with very harshly. By any means.
I supported DeSantis. I did this because he is the most successful Republican governor in a generation. I thought Trump was a man for his time, and I admire many of his accomplishments in office. But, i thought, someone with a bit more
Discipline, and a lot more youth, would be a better choice for us this year.
But that’s not how it turned out. Nevertrumpers are fools, and I’m not one. I will be voting for him in the CA primary and in the general, and I hope with every fiber of my being that he wins, and will try to convince as many as possible.
But we need the former supporters of DeSantis and the other candidates. So do you think you could avoid rubbing their noses in it at every opportunity? Your comment is not even germane to this discussion, but you can’t help throwing a gratuitous swipe. Trump was able to muster graciousness in victory, why can’t you? Honestly, grow the hell up. We have a republic to save and we need each and every supporter we can muster to do it.
