Murphy, a grandfather who grew up in Texas, was in Sacramento, California when two armed men stormed into the Sunglass Hut on West Gray in Houston.
uring the investigation, officers received a call from Anthony Pfleger, the head of loss prevention for EssilorLuxottica. Pfleger said he worked with Macy’s loss prevention to determine that the person who robbed the store was Murphy.
'Using artificial intelligence and facial recognition software, EssilorLuxottica and Macy’s took the video from the robbery and determined that Murphy was the robber,' the lawsuit states. 'The video was recorded by Kimco’s poor low-quality cameras.'

Amazing that you can have multiple murder convictions and Houston will let you out on a PR bond for the next one but they decide to lock this guy up?

How could they arrest someone who wasn’t even in the same state as the robbery?.............
He was arrested because a magistrate rubber stamped a warrant request without questioning the allegations in the warrant. Judges usually approve warrants. It's rare for them to reject one. That's the problem. The more people in the system, the more money it makes. Overcharging leads to plea bargains from innocent people who can't hire a good lawyer.

The prison system was not the original design for our country. Swift justice was. Banishment was short and crime punished quickly.
The prison system needs to end. It clearly makes crime worse. We need common sense justice.

I agree 100% and have posted on FR. Executions for forcible rape, child sex abuse, murder and kidnapping. And not after decades of appeals. Long prison sentence only cause harm and cost huge $$$,
Banishment is not viable. Caning as in Singapore would be useful. In fact the county prosecuter agreed with me when we had a discussion about it after some weeks of grand jury duty.

At times some of the new technologies are not what they are made out to be and do not live up to their names.
