Authorities have confirmed the presence of members of the dangerous Venezuelan gang the Tren de Aragua in the Chicago area.

This transnational criminal organization, which has managed to spread its terror very quickly throughout South America, is in the United States, according to intelligence reports from local agencies.

Since at least October 2023, intelligence divisions of the Cook County Sheriff's Office confirmed through internal emails obtained by Telemundo Chicago that members of the Aragua Train are in Chicago.

Garry McCarthy, police chief for suburban Willow Spring and former police superintendent for Chicago, calls the Aragua Train a criminal enterprise and confirms that it is operating in Chicago.

Through emails reported by Telemundo Chicago, officers alerted their internal units that “the gang has strong human trafficking operations in Latin America and that multiple agencies have confirmed its presence within the United States.”

Now that’s interesting. My backyard also opens up into farmland and as such there is no one behind me either. Many folks out here have cameras and I’ve thought about getting some too but I’m also hoping to move out of here and into some kind of senior housing soon. It’s hard to find that though, and within my ability to pay.

Biden leaving a real bad mess for Republicans to try and clean up. That is often done by the dems when a Republican administration is coming in.

I’ve also read that muslim training camps are all over thsi nation- and also that china holds vast tracts of land & using it for illegal grow farms- in Maine alone, there are over 200 known farms (not sure why they haven’t been shut down already?)

There is a lot of evil being imported into our country from nations that hate us-

For those who have not traveled in Latin America, houses there are designed to be burglar-resistant. The front-yard, if there at all, is protected by a high fence, usually topped with razor wire. All windows are barred and doors have heavy security gates. The back yard will have high walls often topped with broken glass (old school) or even more razor wire.

ive seen that on noraly’s itchyboot motorcycling videos all through south america and alot in africa.

The cameras may be a lot cheaper. It does provide a certain amount of peace of mind. From my bedroom, I don’t have visibility to the front of the house, just one side and the backyard. So the cameras out front lets me know when someone is coming up our driveway (or even a neighbor’s driveway). I get notifications whenever there’s motion out there. Once in a while it’s an animal, and it’s good to see which ones of those are active out there, too. We do have one blind corner, so that’s likely where the next camera will go. It’s unfortunate that we have to go to these lengths to feel secure in our own homes.

Hahaha. Yeah, cameras may be cheaper, however:

1. My daughter wants me to move out closer to her so she watch out over the old man. She lives out west of West Lafayette IN and there is a senior apartment complex in that direction that I'm on a waiting list for.

2. The neighborhood I live in now is filling up with, well, undesirables, shall we say, and the housing itself is not good. There is mold in many units, and in mine as well. I live in a two bedroom, but I only use one of them because the other one has mold in the walls and the owner won't do anything about it even though it was their HVAC unit that caused it.

3. Plus I'm right outside a military base and I'm trying to get away from it. Don't get me wrong, I love the people there I used to work with and for (except for a couple of stinkers) but it's time to move elsewhere away from it, and the noise!

We have friends in Monticello and sometimes we meet them in West Lafayette or just Lafayette. It’s about halfway between our homes. Parts of it are nice, at least what I know of the area. I’ll have to say, I’m with your daughter or moving out asap. I am very sensitive to molds and I know I would be sick all the time if I had it in my own home. I’m surprised the landlord won’t do any remediation. Terrible.

I love my little town. It’s pretty quiet most of the time. Maybe we are far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but that suits me just fine. I don’t know if I could live someplace more populated anymore. I’ve outgrown needing to be near so-called amenities.

I wonder how long it will be before we see mutilated corpses hanging from overpasses during our morning commute?

Um, ... "everyone" in the political/legal power chain is getting a cut?
