RFK Jr. launches new party to get on Calif. ballot

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced Monday that he has launched a political party to get on the California ballot.

The We the People party is seeking to register 75,000 people in the state to be able to run against presidential candidates in the Republican and Democratic parties. California will hold its primary on March 5 along with more than a dozen other states as part of Super Tuesday.

“The current rules were written by the two establishment political parties in order to protect themselves from competition,” the campaign wrote in an email to potential supporters. “As it stands right now, the rules stop independent candidates like me from offering voters an alternative to the status quo.”

California requires 219,000 signatures for an individual candidate to gain ballot access. A new political party, however, can gain access with just 75,000 party registrations.

“While registering 75,000 people to a new party is still a big lift, the truth is our campaign already has more than 70,000 supporters in California,” the campaign said.

As part of its California ballot drive, Kennedy’s campaign is asking supporters to register with the We the People party on the Secretary of State’s web site using “other” as the party preference and writing in We the People. It is also asking new party registrants to identify three other voters in the state who can register...

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Tries Creating Own Party to Get on Ballot in 6 States:

Election offices in North Carolina, Delaware and Hawaii confirmed that they had received the campaign’s applications for a new party, as did the Texas secretary of state’s office. The Mississippi secretary of state’s office said it had received partial paperwork, and California’s office said it had not received a filing.

The party name sounds too patriotic to skim any Left Wing votes, he might get a handful of Republican votes in California. Trump has no chance of winning the state anyway.

If RFK takes a large chunk of Biden votes, some of these otherwise unattainable blue states can tip to Trump

Trump needs to cut a deal with RFK, Jr. Trump will tell his voters to vote for RFK, Jr., in CA, and RFK, Jr. will tell his voters to vote for Trump in PA, GA, MI, etc. RFK, Jr. winning electoral votes in the right states guarantees at worst a contingent election in the U.S. House of Representatives. That is RFK, Jr.'s hope and it means no Rat president, unless our Congress critters betray us yet again. Congressional candidates need to be put on the record about a contingent election in the House.

RFK will be taking votes from those who are anti-vax and believe there should be some accountability for the COVID debacle.

I don't think these are Biden voters.

I am hearing rumours that Kennedy might be vp for trump !!??

I hope not , we need him as a third party

Let him run as a third party and get him nominated on every battle state

Trump needs to make sure Kennedy runs as third candidate

If the RINOs find some way to eliminate Trump from running, and replace him with a RINO, would conservatives vote for the RINO, or for Kennedy?

Am I missing something? He missed all the filing deadlines:

Some kind of exception for “new parties” with signatures?? I may have to check.

Trump voters would stay home and the GOP would be over

I will not vote for another Romney-Like candidate again.

If the GOP dies, it dies.

OK, yeah that makes sense...new party designation for the general election then.
I guess the new party will declare him the "winner" of the new parties' "primary" and get him on the general election ballot.

"Never mind" and now back to the thread... 😉
